I voted Kamigawa, because that's the block I started to play with
I know it's not a good block,but I like it anyway...Ah nostalgia:D
Pretty much this. I loved the Kamigawa block, and not because I'm an otaku. Admittedly, some of the themes stick out (Ninjutsu, Bushido) in my mind as fun... okay, yeah, it's because I'm an otaku. Don't judge me!
If I could, I'd play a mono-Green Snake Aggro forever.. but the Orochi's aren't the greatest tribe in the world, I'll admit. Still a fun deck.
Well, I voted for Time Spiral too. Sure it's a bit lacking in structure but who cares when there's so much craziness going on? Certainly not me!
Plus, as someone who can't stand the current frames, the Timeshifted cards were a neat bonus, and the Futureshifts were the best frames ever IMO (and no, most people didn't hate them, in fact they're the favorite frame of the Magic community according to Forsythe's poll).
Silver goes to Odyssey, which had a decent and coherent theme and did some very interesting things with the second and third sets, and was just plain fun overall.
In third I'd put Shadowmoor. I always liked the idea of hybrid but felt it was woefully underused in Ravnica. Shadowmoor set that right, and produced some very memorable cards in the process.
Even though I couldn't in all honesty put it into my top 3, let me say that I love Kamigawa, which would probably rank 6th (after Invasion and Urza).
As for my bottom three, they're Alara (Intersting setting, but in this day and age, there's no excuse for printing that many cards that were multicolored for the sake of being multicolored. Plus, there wasn't enough awesome in SOA and CON and almost too much in ARB), Ravnica (Setting and flavor were completely unappealing to me, the 4-3-3 distribution thing was really annoying and some mechanics, like dredge, seemed unnecessarily complicated. The hybrid thing I already mentioned), and Ice Age (Let's just say that they didn't know how to design blocks yet and waste no more words on it).
I didn't like the 4-3-3 thing they did with Ravnica either but I liked the 10 guild idea and hope they revisit that plane, a Ravnica 2 sort of thing would be awesome. It's really interesting that people would vote for "futureshifts" being their favorite card frame, I love the old gothic style and thought it fit perfectly with the fantasy feel of the game, unlike this modern-ness mixed with fantasy, and the future feel felt even more conflicting. I wouldn't have minded so much if it was consistant, but why were only some cards designed that way? And having the mana cost on the opposite side was pointless, if they were going to change the cards they could have at least had the cost going down the right side of the card and did it for every card in the set. They feel so out of place alongside other cards in the game and even others within the same boosters....
I also think it's interesting that you'd put alara behind masques, the biggest things I find wrong with it are conflux (I didn't like the 5 color idea) and the fact that it sort of feels forced... like it doesn't feel like you have too much of a choice with how to make the deck, the mechanics do it for you and it's just so obvious. I still love the diversity and balance between the shards though, and I don't feel any other block made the colors or guilds of colors as distinct or unique as they were in alara. While other blocks have themes, each shard in alara has its own theme which is what I think shows the complexity and thought put into its design.
Ravnica will (should) definitely win this. It's been established long enough as the bona fide fan-favorite block... perhaps the highest-regarded of all time. I loved Time Spiral and Onslaught, but the level of balance in Ravnica is simply genius. Plus, the setting had me hyped months in advance, and the storyline (novels) is also a favorite among fans. I don't know why anyone would consider any other block, except for Urza's, perhaps...
I actually thought Invasion was supposed to be the most fun color themed block.... Ravnica is just more current and came around when the fan base was bigger. I wasn't around for either but I've talked to enough long time players to give me the idea that invasion was the end of a sort of golden age in magic. At least for drafters, maybe I was just talking to biased people, one of the reasons I made this poll, but from what I hear it's better to draft than RGD. I don't have enough experience to say for sure myself though.
Cards with the post 8th Edition, color shifted and future shifted templates as well as the timeshifted and Coldsnap reprint ones tastes a little sweeter. Any gold cards with the old faces are a little saltier. European foreign (except Russian) cards with the mentioned templates above are not as sweet as their English counterparts and has a wierd after taste. All taste tests were done from fresh packs and all cards tasted are not foil cards. I have yet to taste Asian and Russian cards.
Fallen Empires is one of your fav sets.....? No offense, but what do you like about it?
EDIT: YES ANOTHER VOTE FOR ALARA!
...................................No way............................................... Wait, Mercadian Masques? I'm not taking that one seriously without an explanation, that couldn't possibly beat Mirrodin to a vote in an honest poll, there's just no way. Tell me you were trolling... if not, that leaves 1 block left that still has 0 votes that I thought wouldn't get any out of the 4 I thought wouldn't.
EDIT: Maybe it was a misclick... you don't just vote for that though and don't post a reply if you were serious. I honestly think the voter thought he voted for urza or invasion, it is between some of the best blocks ever....
EDIT: Maybe they started out with Masques? Maybe they just try to be unique?
Ravnica ftw.
Amazingly fun set, interesting plotline (some of the best Magic novella out there), and flavor that coursed throughout every bit of it. Overall, Magic's greatest.
That should be novels, good sir. Novellas are in-between the length of a novel and short story.

I think this idea of Invasion being the last block of some sort of "golden age" of Magic is that it's where the classic storyline came to a head.
Also, I'm the jerk who voted for Masques block. I know the block gets a lot of flack, and I'm still really upset about Prophecy. But for whatever reason I loved the flavor of moving between the different planes for each set in it. Mercadia is definitely a locale I wish we would travel too again, Nemesis was a nice return to Rath after the awesome that was Tempest block, and Prophecy, for all its failures, was a nice transition back to "contemporary" Dominaria before Invasion went nuts. Sure, rebels, especially Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero definitely helped tip things too much in white's favor, but I still had fun playing in standard back then. I had enough resources between Urza's and the core set beefing up my Masques deck to play mono-black effectively against white. And hey, there are a good number of cards from those sets I still love playing with: Gush, Rishadan Port, Blastoderm, Rhystic Study, Land Grant, Parallax Tide, Unmask, Foil, Jolrael, Empress of Beasts, Charisma, Magistrate's Scepter, Skyshroud Poacher, Saproling Burst, Ascendant Evincar, and Daze. Just to name a few.

Mr. Jiggles comin' to town and gonna take you on down to the hootenanny, so y'all best be lookin' out for a good, jiggly time.
^Nah, no one else put it that way. Players just get this 'back in the good old days' sound when talking about Invasion, if Dominaria is referred to as "the golden age of mtg" it's just a coincidence. I was just using that term to describe the nostalgia I've seen players get when talking about it that makes me jealous. I wish I had played back then....
Thanks for clearing up the MM thing though, I just think it seems horribly average/dull but then again I heard tempest described that way....

OF ALL TIME? That reminds me, I thought I created a thread about it but I guess I didn't. I asked about some of the flavor text in zendikar, if it could have been real. I didn't see the card yet but does that one card really say, "I'm going to let you finish but goblin guide is one of the best goblins OF ALL TIME!" Looking at the flavor text in zen made me think it was a joke, like an un-set....

Its not, thats just the flavor that it was spoiled as. It was just a joke
And look what else it gave us....FETCH LANDS!, Slivers (including Sliver overlord), AN ALL CREATURE SET, Akroma, Wellwisher, Eternal Dragon, and just look at the key abilities that are still around Storm, and more importantly Double-strike, and Vigilance was basically created because Akroma's text was ridiculus.
And who could forget about Morph? lol Blistering Firecat anyone?
Onslaught - Severly missed in Extended (although TEPS can just go to hell)
I voted for Odyssey block as it was still in standard when I first started playing and it evokes good memories. The mechanics were interesting and dynamic as well (I'm a sucker for decks reliant upon the graveyard) and the flavor was amazing.

Well, the whole point of having shifted cards was to set them apart from the rest of the set, so it's a bit silly to complain that the whole set doesn't have them.
Yes, they look out of place next to 'normal' cards, yes to some (not me though) they won't look "fantasy" enough, yes the mana's in a weird place and yes it's annoying how you can only fit seven mana symbols in there, but IMO they look so much better than all the other frames that I don't mind those little flaws. (besides, one day I'll get a custom frame for MSE made that fixes them ;))
And since I forgot to give you a link for the poll I mentioned, here it is (bottom of the page).

Holy influx of votes since last time, 0 for Onslaught and now there's 3, Ravnica got a huge boost, Odyssey tripled, and yet another vote for Mercadian Masques.... Everything else stayed the same? lol
STILL no votes for Mirrodin, I have no clue how MM gets 2 before mirrodin gets any.
As for that poll, I think maybe the only people who'd bother to even vote in such a boring poll would be those excited about the futureshifted frame. I bet if you took a poll right now, the classic frame would win. That or the current frame, futureshifts look like they should be yugioh cards or something.
I like Shadowmoor/Eventide, NOT Lorwyn/Morningtide.
:-/....... yeah sorry about that, big mistake
EDIT: Got an Urza and more Rav, wow. It's worth noting that RGD now has as much votes as the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place blocks combined and its percentage has only been climbing consistantly, I wonder where it will stop........
In terms of cards, mechanics and decks, I would say Kamigawa is my favorite.
In terms of flavor, story and overall idea of a block/world, I would say Ravnica.
But I voted for Kamigawa.
