Urza's block is probably my favorite because it introduced alot of aspects to the game that are very important now (such as archetypes and close and heated championship matches (GO FINKEL))

I loved Onslaught, mostly because that is A. When I got into magic and B. I love the Fist. Khamal struck a cord with me as a character, and so did the entire color of green and its attatude, which I think that block, and Khamal in particular, did a great job of representing. Natural Power unrestrained, fighting for survival and dominance.
HMM, WIZARDS, I WONDER WHAT WOULD BE A COOL PLANE TO RETURN TO. I WONDER WHAT PLANE PEOPLE LOVE MOST.
Anyway, joking aside, I call for a bigger sample.
Kamigawa 177.62%
I simply do not believe this. Kamigawa ahead of Alara, Mirrodin, Onslaught? I thought Kamigawa was generally accepted as the worst block of all time, let alone being anyone's favorite.

Although always playing a deck I think is fun, I'm also always trying to win the tournament.

Urza, even if my favorite set is Exodus. I really love that block, so many wonderful cards! *__* If I could go back to those days, I buy some boxes of the three Urza's set. And I never sell my italian Exploration that I found in a pack, or trade my Urza's Cradle for an Archivist...
is there a card named urza's cradle? or you mean it's gaea's?

Aside from Soulshift, I always really liked Kamigawa. In fact I would probably say it is my favorite, though I love Urza, Mirrodin, TS, and Alara blocks.
Hate to break it to you both but most people who've posted the fact that they voted for Lorwyn/Shadowmoor have either said, "I voted for Lorwyn because twhat's when I got into magic," or "I voted Shadowmoor, I don't like Lorwyn."
I started playing in Tempest and Lorwyn/Shadowmoor is my favorite block. It actually brought me back to magic after I stopped playing just before Mirrodin thanks to the lovely flavor/world/art direction.
I love Urza both playing it (even though it was incredibly broken) and now I still love it for its effects on eternal formats. Some of the most memorable cards come from that block for me.
While I love some of the reasonable and powerful cards from Urza's (Replenish, Exploration, Rancor) I hate the stupid brokenness so its kind of the opposite for me. Whoever completely failed to playtest Yawgmoth's Will, Tinker, Memory Jar and the Untap mechanic needs to find another job.
By this time R&D was fairly advanced too, they absolutely should have caught it. Tempest was wonderfully balanced while having qutie powerful, elegantly designed cards, they just blew the power creep through the roof on Urza's.

It's already been explained earlier. If there was a vote for worst block ever Kamigawa would probably take it. If this thread is tl;dr though: it's Kamigawa vs. every other block (sort of). All the votes for "every other block" are spread out over lots of options but there's only 1 kamigawa. It has niche appeal, see a few posts down. Note the anime avatar. Connect the dots.
Ravnica was a great set. It gave ten different play styles, and made it so that you could find plenty of multicolor for any multicolor deck. Shards only focuses on the allied colors. i see it as enemy colors can work way to well together
Because she's the hero standard deserves, but not the one it needs right now... and so we'll chase her... because she can take it... because she's not a hero... she's a silent guardian
I voted for Lorwyn/Shadowmoor, but I prefer Lorwyn. I love the tribal theme to Lorwyn, and they brought many races(Kithkin, Lorwyn) back to life. Plus the theme decks were great. Also, I thought the storyline was interesting as well.
Ravnica. I missed out on the gold in Invasion, a set that I would have probably loved too. Plus I love the guilds/color combination structure of the block.
I loved Invasion. Vote went to that. A very close second was Urza's even though I wasn't around then, it just seemed so fun to play with that block. Ravnica and lorwyn tie for 3rd. They were both so flavorful. I loved the fact that ravnica was so new player friendly (got me into it) and just gave everyone so many options. Lorwyn was just so fun to play with all the faries, kithkin, merfolk and elves running around. It also is the most interesting story-wise for me with maralen being the fae and all the sheningens going on.
Just a quick side question: Does anyone know what the top deck from the ravnica set was back when it was in standard. I was just starting out and didn't know what competitive was.
what are your favourite blocks and why?
I like the Ravnica and Time Spiral blocks because those were when I played a lot and I liked how those blocks played
Invasion block - It made multicolored chic sans the vivid lands/Reflecting Pool-debacle, and the good cards weren't as concentrated in the rare slots compared to the more recent sets. Also, with the exception of Mirage (the best single set for limited in Magic's history), never was drafting so much fun.
Kamigawa block. It may not have been relatively underpowered (exceptions not included), but I loved the flavor and really enjoyed playing it in limited.
I'm always biased towards the Tempest/Rath block, since that's when I first really got into playing. I got the blue and blue/black Exodus decks and mixed them together along with Lotus Petals and Cursed Scrolls to make an awesome control deck that wrecked the kitchen table.
also b/c that's the set where i got started.

Very close second to Tempest block and Ravnica block (I wasn't there during Ravnica, but I have drafted a few boxes with friends.)
