From what we're seen and heard of Betrayers do you think it will Suck?
I don't think so. I expect it to really upset the tourny enviroment as combos and synergies from Kamigawa Block come together.
I'm supporting the third option, myself. Every set has a few good cards, even if the rest is an ocean of crap. You just need to see them in play to really know how they work.

Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
Based solely on the art we've seen and how I felt about Champions, I don't think Betrayers will suck. However it is really early to make any kind of accurate judgement.

"...because without beer, things do not seem to go as well."
Am I the only person in existence that scorns the Kamigawa block for taking upon an Eastern Theme?... Guess so... I like Mirrodin's theme better... Even if the story was poor...
I can't really tell at this point if it will suck, although you never know, BOK could be subject to the "curse of the middle set" that some think may exist

If you came here expecting a signature, you've just wasted your time.
I think its going to throw not only a wrench but the entire toolbox in the works of T&N and Ravager, and for that I love it and say it won't suck, because I hate netdecks.
Heroism on command, senseless violence, and all the loathsome nonsense that goes by the name of patriotism -how passionately I hate them!

I think BoK will be very exciting, with the tough-to-kill Genju's, ninjas, and the cheesy Shoals. I can't wait for the pre!

Mr. Fu, your leaving of MTGnews' humor forum killed it. KILLLED IT!
it seems to em that betrayers has some interesting cycles, and lots of new mechanics that will keep rogue deckbuilders happy for a long time to come.

:ahem: Anyway, I'm in the majority. I don't think it will be incredibly awesome either, but non-sucky nonetheless. Plus I seem to have this thing for Japanese lately...
What we're doing here is akin to taking the text of Moby Dick, locating specific words therein, rearranging them to create a passage from Fight Club, and concluding from this evidence that Tyler Durden is based on Ahab.
Mechanically and conceptually it is rather appealing. Of course, I've heard people speak of it sucking, and those same folk will renounce their current position when they find all of the "secret tech".
Well, we remember how Torment changed the format in it's day with the rise of U/G madness. The Genju will be playable in a wide variety of decks, and will likely alter the format significantly. Raffinity can't use Genjae, so thats yet another hit to the current deck to beat.

I definitely know it won't suck, per se...But now having already read the kickass BoK book, and having already found out what Ninjitsu will do, I'm not as hyped...It'll probably be alright, and I'll get some boosters, maybe make some nice decks...

It actually seems pretty good. It can only add to the awesome Limited environment that is Kamigawa.

From what I've seen so far it doesn't suck and by the time we find out all the cards I'm sure it won't suck either.
There are a lot of good cards for a person like myself who only plays limited and casual. The introduction to Ninja's is nice. The Shoal's that I have seen so far look awesome, apart from the blue one. The greatest thing about Betrayers though, is the fact that the pre-release card looks really good. The art is great and it introduces a half decent mechanic. Plus, overall Ink-Eyes is really good in limited if you are fortunate to pull one.
So with that said I can't wait for the pre-release.:)
I'm actually really optomistic about BoK, because the truth is, there is only so much filler Wizards can use, we've already seen quite a few crappy filler cards, and some more interesting commons/uncommons. Now that we've seen all the filler, we can see the awesome cards to make up for the crap! YAY!!! I cannot wait 'till the prerelease!!! WOOT!!! I can't wait to see what Betrayers has to offer in draft, it'll complement Champions nicely. Champions is one of my favorite sets in limited, and I'm sure BoK wont dissapoint me either! :grin2: :biggrin3: :grin2:

We've seen some good cards (Neo-Fanatic) and some... not. But there's still more than 150 cards to go. It would be unfair to vote at this point.
