I've found that it's easier to win in drafts at Superstars. I 3-0 at Superstars startlingly often, which I can't say about SpaceCat. I've never gotten past 2-1 there.
Speaking of which, was anyone at Superstars/CFB last night? I tagged along with my friend, who drafted a pretty good Boros deck (and still lost because he can't play to save his life).
I was there yesterday, but not playing in any events.
Any Legacy events coming up besides the 2 CFB ones?

Went 4-5 playing Scapeshift at GPSD losing to Tron, Goroyo's Vengeance/Griselbrand, Affinity x2 and Merfolk. The affinity and merfolk games were really close. I'd be a turn or 2 short of Scapeshifting FTW. And drew 0/4 Firespouts that I boarded in. Oh well... Them the breaks...

I went 4-5, too. I lost against RG Aggro, Tron, Affinity, GW Auras, and Scapeshift, while I won against RUG Infect, Death & Taxes, RWU Control, and another RG Aggro.
I didn't do too well, but all of the judges loved my deck. A few of them came over to my matches and started taking pictures.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

What deck did you play?
I won against Junk, Pod, U/W Control and UWR Flash. My deck loves the control match-up because I have more counterspells. I also run a single Boseiju for the lulz. I kind of want to play more modern, but don't really want to go to Portland... My deck gets wrecked by faster decks and I'm pretty sure I'll be adjusting my sideboard to see less Jund and more aggressive decks.

I played a homebrew. Elementals!
What probably got the judges' attention, though, was the fact that my friends and I had covered my deck registration sheet with hashtags like #Block FTW, #new meta, and #YOLO.
The sideboard is thoroughly terrible. Please ignore it.
So anyway, I was just grinding Planeswalker Points in order to qualify for the WMCQ (and chatting it up with Steve Argyle again), so I figured I would get some matchup experience with my homebrew.
It performs very well against control, while aggro matchups are heavily dependent on how quickly I stabilize (obviously). I currently have no way to stop Eggs or Splinter Twin, though Stony Silence in the sideboard should help with the former.
Tron is kind of tricky. I could keep their Urzatron offline with little to moderate difficulty, but topdecking their last Tron piece gives them the mana they need just long enough to stick a Wurmcoil Engine or Karn.
The first game I played in round 1 was amazing, though. I was playing against RG Aggro.
Me: 8 life, 2 lands, Smokebraider, Incandescent Soulstoke
Him: 17 life, 3 lands, Goblin Guide, Experiment One with two +1/+1 counters
He casts Flinthoof Boar, gives it haste, and attacks with the team. I block Goblin Guide with Soulstoke, and Experiment One with Smokebraider.
Before damage is assigned, I tap Smokebraider and Soulstoke to put another Soulstoke into play, then use THAT Soulstoke to put Reveillark into play.
He opts to regenerate Experiment One, so I don't lose my Smokebraider. I take 3 and go to 5. At end of turn, Soulstoke and Reveillark die, and I use Reveillark to bring back the Soulstoke and Flamekin Harbinger, tutoring for Shriekmaw. During my turn, I cheat it into play, killing his Boar and attacking for 5. From that point, I started chaining Mulldrifters together, filling my hand with gas and attacking for large amounts of damage.

I think I am going to play in the 15 proxy vintage tournament on the 13th of April. I've never actually played in a real vintage tournament, so I'm not quite sure what to play. 15 proxy gives you so much wiggle room. A guy at the last legacy tournament suggested I play blue red landstill because its pretty reactive and has answers to everything. Sounds tempting.
Only thing I cant outright build with 15 proxies is oath or that workshop deck that runs bazaars too.
As for legacy, I should be there for the CFB/world qualifier thing on the 7th if I can manage to get out there. And I'll probably play the eudo tournament the 20th too.
so much legacy! At the next eudo I have a feeling I won't need any proxies
@BURR, the next eudo tourny is april 20th
I am hopefully going to CFB in april as well, will only be missing karakases hopefully.

Oh man. So many tournaments to play.
I haven't played any tournaments in so long.
I would play stax in vintage. You have forgemaster combo, so you aren't too far off.
Anybody playing any events this weekend? I might have to work sunday, but if I don't I'm playing legacy. If i'm stuck working sunday I might go to the saturday event instead. Play the sealed. Build a really bad modern deck , just for the laughs.
Just got to say, you've definitely earned distinction as an MTGS hero

We stopped by the WMCQ to try and play in the Modern challenge on Sat, but it was so packed that it was hot and nerd-stank. Decided to leave and cube at home.

Yeah, but they got the Air Conditioning working for the following day for PTQ, so that was fun.
