Is anyone here looking for a team for GP San Jose? I was going to team up with my friend from Gamescape (San Rafael) but we need a third person. We're both pretty chill and laid-back.

Focused on limited for now. Occasionally play some standard/modern as well.
Hey, just a heads up, Galaxy Games in Dublin is running Thursday Modern tournaments starting this Thursday. I don't know what the expected turnout is but I'll be there!
Plant a seed. Watch it grow.
Hire a snake to plant more trees. Watch them grow.
Blow up a bunch of trees, break a vase when someone tells you not to blow up your trees, surprise the trees are now volcanoes.
Modern- Grapeshot - 79% Legacy- Tendrils of Agony - 83% Vintage- Mind's Desire - 49%, 0/10 Power
Just got to say, you've definitely earned distinction as an MTGS hero

Because he's the hero MTGS deserves, and the one it needs right now. So we'll global him. Because he can take it. Because he's not just our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. An expired rascal.

ExpiredRascals you sir are a god-like hero.

Where's the best place to play standard FNMs in SF or around (I don't mind a 20 min drive)? I need at least a consistent four rounds and it seems a lot of places play draft instead.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
Went to trade for a few Storm pieces for legacy. Left with the entire deck (and no binder). Also got some sick sketches on my Recall and Library proxies from Mark Poole.

Coalition Relic - 40
Woodfall Primus (MMA) - 10
Thoughtseize (Theros) - 48
Boros Charm - 8
Counterspell (FNM) - 10 (Got this signed by poole while he was there)
Glen Elendra Archmage (MMA) - 22
Mystical Tutor (FTV) - 20
Enlightened Tutor - 55
Vampiric Tutor - 85
I traded for a good portion of it. I also picked up 2x Pack foil vesuvas at $10 each, but traded them to a vendor while I was there for more than 10.
Also picked up a few alters.
Yeah, I figured they would look nice in my friend's cube. I also have plans to use them in EDH (Elspeth in multiplayer, Kiora in 1v1), so I thought it'd be best to pick them up early.
Ooh, nice haul. I don't have much in the way of excess tradeables, so I normally have to pay out of pocket for most of my stuff.
Oh hey, I saw those Vesuvas! They were in a $10 binder, yeah? That's where I got most of my foils for the weekend. I was seriously tempted to pick those up too, since my friend plays UG Cloudpost in Legacy and I'm sure he'd appreciate a couple more pack foil Vesuvas. I ultimately decided against it, though.
One of my other friends was fortunate enough to snag an Italian Tabernacle for $345, because the vendor checked its price on the European market instead of the North American market.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I also got a foil Fulminator Mage for $50.

Hello all! Saw a recent post when I was scanning around and thought I'd say hi.
My name is Joel, I'm a teacher in Oakland (6th grade) and I play Limited and EDH (Currently run Daretti, Kemba, Mimeoplasm, and Marath with Kokusho in the works). Most Fridays I go to FNM at Games of Berkeley.
I have actually been looking for a playgroup to hang out with - teaching is hard work though so I'm mostly only free on Fridays/Saturdays. Not really sure of the protocol around here, but please let me know if anyone wants to meet and hang out =]

Wow 345 for the tabernacle? I think I would have snap bought that one

The price of the Tabernacle in question wasn't displayed in the case, so I think most people just assumed it was the regular U.S. market price. However, my friend pointed to it and asked "How much for the Tabernacle?", and the vendor just looked up the MCM price and said "$345."

Also another CFB 1k legacy on the 13th of this month I believe.
