Same, but the problem with the Bay Area is that we are too spread out, and the traffic sucks. More local stores running weeklies would be a good start too.
I believe CFG has monthly Legacy events, and Eudo has an event on March 10 that was posted by xcaliburz on last page. There was an announcement for side events in April for the replacement of World's qualifier. That one I am going to try and make, as well as the CFG monthly one.
And now I'm in need of a FTV: Realms grove of the burnwillows and a taiga! Ah MTG deckbuilding problems.
Are there any tournaments coming up in the area? I'm really itching to play in an event.
Better off with a pack foil grove. And I expect nothing less than FBB on that taiga.
On the 10th theres a 10 proxy at Eudo in Berkeley and I think another CFB no-proxy on the 17th. I had to miss the last ones. Hopefully I can make it this time though. I've got the itch too.
I may or may not be at CFB tomorrow to play EDH. If im there, I'll have legacy of some sort on me.
What were your guys' thoughts on turning this into a all-format Bay Area thread, rather than keeping it legacy?
If you guys want to make this a thread where everyone who lives around our area can talk about all formats, that would be cool, but if not, that's fine as well. I can just make a seperate playtest thread for other formats.
Let me know what you guys like better, either is fine.
I have no problem with cross format discussion if that's where people want to go.
roxi - SF - Legacy, EDH, Cube, potential interest in modern.
Edit: Speaking of modern. I know someone mentioned the magic cup qualifier at CFB in April (Here). I think I would like to play both the legacy and modern events, but I know very little about modern. Anybody know of any reasonably straightforward decks? Im guessing jund is my best bet, considering ive got the goyfs, bobs, lilianas, and deathrites. Id like to play something like esper gifts control or something, but feel like its a poor choice having no real grasp of the meta and no experience with the deck.
