Look at this kid. Stax just loses some matchups though.
Every deck loses to some matchups, the typical Stax list is focused on beating Combo, though (mine are, at least). Stax can easily be made to beat any deck, but doing so always opens up a hole in it to another deck.
Thoughtsieze is some good, for sure. There are actually quite a few cards in Llorwyn that I am interested in, I'll be a long prerelease for sure (I wonder if I'll be able to get a playset of Thoughtseize's, doubt I'll find a set of foils but it'd be nice to get at least one!).
sealed is rediculous. its like oh i drop an undercosted 5/5 on turn 4 or i play 7/7s on turn 5 it is sorta dumb like removal is so much better than it used to be but unfortunatly there isnt a whole lot of great removal.

if you suck at magic and i decide to talk to you dont expect me to be nice.
Are you kidding? Oblivion Ring FTW! Even the new "Destroy target non-elf" is amazingly good (Shriekmaw is pretty tasty, even). I'm even considering making a Standard deck again, a B/G Rock type deck.
This was something I really just threw together, still deciding on a lot of the card choices. It's a Post Lorwyn Korlash Control type of deck. EDIT: I removed Korlash, so it's more of a Haakon Control type of deck, included the Crusaders since they work with Korlash. I'm considering removing Goyf to add more Knights, but I'm not sure (Goyf is rather good).
Obviously, Haakon with Crib Swap/Nameless Inversion rocks (Haakon lets you play Knight CARDS from your graveyard, since Swap/Inversion are Changeling spells, they are also Knight cards). Crusaders are there since they work well with Haakon, and can add some more Flying support to the deck. Oona's Prowler seems like a good card just because it's a 3/1 Flyer for 1B, can force my opponent to discard cards, and gives me a free discard outlet for Haakon, I'm not entirely sold on the Prowler, though.
Tarmogoyf is just...Tarmogoyf! Originally I was planning a straight forward B/G Rock type deck, but Haakon/Crib Swap just seems too good to pass up, Goyf is the last remains of that deck, but I don't see any reason to drop him so far, unless I wanted to play more on the Knight recursion (maybe a Changling, even?). There's also Juniper Order Ranger, seems really good, but expensive (probably too espensive for his P/T and ability, a matter of too little too late).
Stupor/Thoughtseize just seem like natural inclusions, no Persecute anymore, but it's still a nice control element. Smallpox adds to this, as well as adding creature control.
The mana base are a bit shakey still, I don't mind only having Llanowar Wastes for a green source, but man I miss Dual lands (well, I miss real ones, but even here I miss Ravnica ones)!!! It would make the deck so much smoother if I could fetch them out with Korlash, but oh well.
Possible sideboards include Extirpate, but I don't have much beyond that.
Tyler, just so you know, I have Flash built and there's only 8 proxies (3x Underground Sea, Ancestral Recall, Lotus/Sapphire/Jet/Emerald). I have the Forces, Fetches, and Tropical Islands in other decks (other casual decks, so they're not already used in the other Vintage decks so you can use them in Flash). I have a basic sideboard thrown together with some expectations for what you're going to see at Mirkwood, too. I'll try to post a list tomorrow (later today, rather, once I get home from work) so you can test it out a bit on MWS or something.
I was being sarcastic about him winning. You can win Vintage but unless you build a new deck I doubt you will win Legacy.
Why is he still running stax? Even if he is he can always switch last moment really easily.
