Got 3 lion's eye diamonds the other day and they are throwing me off. I uploaded 2 of them, They seem real to me. Rosette pattern looks good, border seems alright but when I shine a light through these it is so bright compared my other mirage cards. I have checked a lot of my mirage card stock and have not found any that passes light like these do.
This interests me greatly as I've come across similar cards but everyone told me they were real. I'm wondering if there's a print run variation in Mirage. Also, has anyone bulk ordered any fakes recently? I know we're not supposed to talk about that kind of activity but it's a great way to compare real and fake cards. Usually the fakes have a strong plastic smell and feel like credit cards, but I believe there are other sellers in the mix now.
A little late to the game but I feel it's worth a mention.
To quote the wiki:
Mirage had two significant different printings: one dark print with a rough finish, and one light print with a smooth finish. The dark Mirage was printed in US, the light one in Belgium at Carta Mundi.
You make no mention as to color quality of the card but owning both cards, the U.S. (or Belgium depending on your point of reference) feel and look very different. I have never done a light test between the two but I'll see if I can sort through my cards and find some samples.
