I am always entertained when themes in media appear. In the past volcano-based movies have appeared twice in one year, while another year had insect-based cartoons hit the theaters ("A Bugs Life" and "Antz"). I don't know if it's a coincidence or somewhat planned (art imitating life and/or vise versa?)
Even though (technically) Assassin's Creed: Valhalla was released Nov. 2020, it is really a 2021 title; with players just now digging into the game & critics writing and/or publishing articles (just a read a review in Game Spot).
Then we have this new set that looks jaw-dropping fun, Kaldheim being released in the cold month of February (wondering if that was planned for the flavor of it...?).
And (hopefully) a game that I am one of the designers for has a 2021 release, which is aptly titled Twilight of the Gods (it has been out for 5 years now, but a new expansion for this expandable card game [you get all of the cards in the set when you buy it, no booster packs; just a different style of distribution of the product]. Now Twilight of the Gods (TotG for short), is not just about Norse mythology, but incorporates many Gods & mythical beasts from our own worlds religions, civilizations & mythologies. And no, this isn't meant to be a plug for my game; we haven't even been told when the Kickstarter is happening (we, the design team) only got an email from our publisher telling us that production of their various games is starting up again after a very sluggish 2020 & we're now part of the pipeline of their release calendared).
BTW (this part is sort of a plug...): you can look us up, Twilight of the Gods, on Amazon and the boardgame website, boardgamegeek.com
But back to my topic, anyone else agree this is the year of the Vikings? Am I missing any other Viking inspired or related media coming out this year?
