I feel you didn't actually read the PDF file there. I referred to the blue medical gloves because that is what most people would be familiar with. If I thought people would be familiar with the archive gloves, I would have pointed them out.No mention of "latex-free" otherwise I would have commented differently about it.
I've never once ever in any capacity seen anyone ever use blue medical gloves outside of a medical facility, ever. "Latex" is more of a colloquial term nowadays, the average person does not care to waste time learning every polymer name when such detail is wholly insignificant to their endeavors, it's similar to when people say "kleenex" interchangeably with "tissue". All at matters is whether a glove has residue or not, there aren't commonly accessible polymers that will do anything like burn or corrode a card on contact.
The cards in my favourite EDH deck add up to about $900 right now, so yes I double sleeve. With the rising cost of this game I don't see why anyone wouldn't.
I'd once considered stopping double sleeving my decks, until one day a friend was shuffling her deck, split the corner of a sleeve, and tore the corner of her foil Botanical Sanctum off the edge. Put an end to those thoughts.
I double sleeve. There are just too many instances of 2 sided cards and/or cards that need to be denoted as something exerted/played from gy/etc where the cards need to be handled.

My decks reach north of that even (and others reach above mine) so I can see where you are coming from.
In the context of EDH, I get that it is difficult to shuffle 99 double sleeved cards and I had a hard time too at first (the first time I double sleeved a deck, I removed them since the deck was so large). Eventually, I realized that after time, double sleeving does not increase the deck size by a lot and there are way too many things that can happen to cards from splitting sleeves, catching a corner in the sleeve and damaging the card, someone spilling something (not likely in our circle, but still) as well as the benefits it provides to foils and curling.
Overall, the pros far outweigh the cons of double sleeving. And, even if cards being double sleeved are unlikely to matter much in the long run regarding protection from damage, there is not realistic downside that will make the protection to my cards any worse. Since inner sleeves are ridiculously cheap compared to the cards in them, I am willing to hedge a little.
These are what I use and CoolStuffinc is one of the few places that actually has them in stock. I double sleeved all my Planechase and Archenemy cards. I tried double sleeving my Vanguard cards but they are just a little bigger than a Planechase card, so that is a no go.
Also worth noting is that there are 2 versions of regular sleeves for oversized cards: side loading and top loading. And, I use these terms based on the orientation of Archenemy cards (or regular Magic cards) not based on the orientation of Planechase cards. I bring this up because for a while the only option was the side loading option from Ultra Pro. And, I personally hate them due to the awkwardness of shuffling them. Ultra Pro sells both side loading and top loading versions so if this is what you want, but sure to get the right ones from Ultra Pro. Ultimate Guard only has top loading so you don't need to worry as much there.
I double sleeve all my Legacy and a couple of EDH decks.
When your decks are $1000-$5000 it seems silly not to pay $10-15 to double sleeve it.

At the very i single sleeve, if the cards are expenisive i will double sleeve. my modern decks and when i had legacy were double sleeved. i currently play kiki chord and have a lot of cards i could swap in and out depending on what is being played so if i have everything double sleeved i can take out cards and still have them sleeved if i need to. personally i dont find double sleeving to be an issue for shuffling sometimes i find it better because the sleeves are a bit fatter the sides come at more of an angle, hard to discribe but if you think of it as [] vs <> you can shuffle <> easier bc they split into the other half easier. For anything larger than 60 card i dont double sleeve. EDH i find its easy enough to have something together 1 week and take apart the next though i also kinda break my rule of double sleeving when something is expenisive as i have a handful of alters foils and dual lands in some of my decks that really should be double sleeved, sometimes i will double sleeve single cards in edh decks like the alters. double sleeving edh i would find difficult to shuffle as well as having deckboxes large enough to hold 100 double sleeved cards

Yea, I've picked up some sleeves, but would very much like to protect them better with a double sleeve.

EDIT:
Regarding Oversized double sleeving:
