Moved to Magic General because I don't know how anyone could get the impression that Lost Soul is a new card.
I think tasteful seminudity was kosher back in the old days of art (gotta love Vitalizing Cascade) and more importantly, you can only see the slightest hint of the Soul's body(?) underneath the diaphanous clothes.
It seems a lot of old MTG art is straightforward with a foreground focus, which emphasizes the subject whether or not it's revealing, especially Douglas Shuler. Rebecca Guay and Kaja Foglio have different styles but often fits the theme of this thread
Ironically, Fishliver Oil has such art for 9th Edition (with no flavortext) but plain art and ribald flavortext in Arabian Nights and Chronicles
I think the context and presentation here has to be considered.
The card is tastefully done and you need quite a bit of imagination to make a smudge here and there on par with a certain Larry Flint magazine centerfold. There are other cards that take far less imagination than this does. To be honest, I had to really look close to even understand what the issue was, the detail is just too small.
As for censorship....
Consider what's being asked and the implications here.
I had this very long post that kind of meandered to my 10 and 8 year old, Edvard Munch, Van Gogh and the Louvre. I think I even mentioned Priapus at one point. I deleted it because it was too dangerous I think. The post basically boiled down to this:
This game is intended for 13 and up. I would hope that any individual older than 13 would have a little more worldly wisdom to use this card. This card is not a Larry Flint centerfold and, thusly, shouldn't evoke any embarrassment or cause any awkwardness at all.
I wanted to explore this facet further but given the very intense debate over very recent artwork by WotC, I feel it's not worth the effort.
Added:
I read my post and no matter how I edit it, it just comes off as... I dunno... insensitive?
Thing is, I get where you're coming from. I get why people might want to show a little... humility I guess.
mainly because I am 12 years old and I play with my own mother
It's based on the old D&D Ghosts that try to act pleasant, look attractive, etc, then when you get close it's basically a horrific nightmare creature. Basically, that cloth is like an illusion and when the veil gets lifted it's a hideous decaying skeleton.
Also that's an artistic nude. Gods, all the naked people from an elderly old lady to a human skeleton triatholon runner I've had to draw in life drawing. Once you realize how many different body types there are and that the "idealic" body type is just a composition of elements it really changes ones perspective.
Anyway, it's fine to feel awkward about these things at your age. I'm sure your mother isn't even thinking about the artwork as much as you might be right now.
1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
mainly because I am 12 years old and I play with my own mother
Build a dinosaur tribal deck, I'm almost certain there'll be no tasteful nudity in there.
Seriously, nudity and near nudity in art has a bunch of contexts and intentions, and you're gonna have to learn to evaluate/build your own classifications of those. I wouldn't worry so much about Lost Soul right now, personally.

human skeleton triatholon runner
Were you making an attempt to imagine where the bones were or do you mean donated remains?
@KingAlanI: but is Gwendlyn Di Corci's flavor seriously "she ****s so good that you take psychic damage"? Because that's amazing, but feels slightly out of theme for Magic.

Oh no, I'm referring to the body type of one of the people that did the nude posing stuff for the life drawing class. There were four different people and two were pretty extreme on the scale. The runner was possibly the wispiest human being I've ever born witness to.

I own this card and it's really awkward when I use it
is it naked
I'm not looking for alternatives but I'm just wondering why it isn't censored in some way
