Back in early 2004, the 1st offensive line of the Vancouver Canucks was comprised of 3 players: Markus Naslund on left wing, Todd Bertuzzi on right wing, and Brendan Morrison playing center. Naslund was the finesse playmaker, Morrison was support and Bertuzzi was the power forward. Together they were known as the "West Coast Express" (named after a commuter train in Vancouver) and, at that point in time, they were the most productive offensive line the Canucks had ever fielded.
In early 2004, the Canucks were playing a game against the Colorado Avalanche. At that point in time, Naslund lead all players in the league in points, and Bertuzzi wasn't far behind. Naslund was skating through center ice reaching for the puck when he was hit by an Avalanche player, Steve Moore. While there was no penalty called on the play (and review of video footage by the league would later confirm that it was a legal hit), Naslund was injured and had to sit out the next 3 games to recover. Several of the Canucks' players and staff were furious, believing that Moore had targeted Naslund in order to injure him deliberately.
Less than a month later, they played again. Late in the game, the Canucks were losing. Badly. Eventually, Todd Bertuzzi (a relatively large and imposing man) started tailing Moore, trying to goad him into a fight. When Moore didn't take the bait, Bertuzzi stalked him around the ice. Eventually, Bertuzzi grabbed Moore's jersey from behind and took a swing at him, landing a punch to the back of Moore's head.
If you've ever watched hockey, you know that fights are a fairly common occurrence. You also know that, because it's really hard to swing a punch at someone while skating on ice without falling over, those fights almost always occur with each player involved holding onto the other player with one hand while swinging with the other, in order to maintain balance. However, in this case, because Moore and Bertuzzi weren't stationary but rather moving in the same direction, they fell, with Bertuzzi landing on top of Moore. Two other players rushed in, Andrei Nikolishin (Colorado) and Sean Pronger (Vancouver) rushed in, and also ended up on top of the pile.
When all was said and done, Steve Moore ended up with a concussion, facial cuts... and 3 fractured vertebrae. He lay motionless on the ice for 10 minutes before being carried off on a stretcher. He would never play again.
To this day, we don't really know exactly what caused the injury which ended Moore's career. It might have been the punch to the back of the head (unlikely, but not impossible). It might have also been Moore falling onto the ice face-down with Bertuzzi falling on top of him. Alternatively, it could have happened when Nikolishin and Pronger piled on both of them. It could also simply be a combination of all three.
Ultimately though, it doesn't matter. We know that Bertuzzi clearly intended to hit Moore. He probably didn't intend to fall on top of Moore afterwards, and he almost certainly didn't intend for two more players to pile on top of them. Regardless of which part of the chain of events caused Moore's injury, every event that followed was a direct result of the Bertuzzi's instigating punch on Moore. Moore's hit on Naslund earlier in the season may have been unsavory, but it was deemed to be in accordance with NHL rules. What Bertuzzi did, however, was nothing short of assault. For his actions, he would miss the next 20 games, was forfeited half a million dollars in salary, and was banned from playing hockey internationally and abroad by the IIHF for the rest of 2004 and 2005. Everyone, including the league, the IIHF and Bertuzzi himself, recognized that, whatever the exact cause of injury was, it stemmed from Bertuzzi's actions and that he was ultimately responsible for the chain of events that followed.
Here's where things get interesting. I said earlier that recognized Bertuzzi's fault. That was a lie, or at least not the whole truth. Everyone eventually recognized Bertuzzi's fault. However, because Bertuzzi was a very popular player at that point in time, there was a lot of pushback, including from yours truly. At the time, I reasoned that it was probably Nikolishin and Pronger's dogpiling on top of Moore and Bertuzzi that actually caused the injury. It took a lot of growing for me to recognize that, even if they do bear some fault, Bertuzzi is the one who is ultimately accountable for everything that happened. He chose to take action, and as such, everything that followed from his choice, whether or not he could foresee the consequences (and I'm referring specifically to the two other players landing on top of the pile), is ultimately on his shoulders.
At this point, I doubt anyone will have any difficulty unpacking the who's who in this metaphor.
Well the man, Jeremy, is now hiding behind memes in his latest video because he hasn't been immediately banned by Wizards. The memes are about the equivalent of his twitter and facebook posts, very spiteful. I pulled up a quick example and honestly it shows me Jeremy's true colors when faced with "witch hunting" as he likes to call it.

Career suicide at its finest.
I mean, if he didn't do anything ban-worthy before, he certainly has now. He has gone into full-on insult rage harassment rage mode, throwing insults at people like candy and breaking all sorts of lovely rules. It's also great to see some of the people who did support him starting to realize that Jeremy might just be an ass who actually isn't being persecuted for his beliefs, and instead is just an ass who deserves a lot of the criticism he gets. Some of them even have come to realize he is actually committed actionable offenses now, which pretty much destroys his credibility.
He has done the opposite of that. He refused to apologize, and rolled with it.
Put yourself into his shoes: if you may well be banned because of public outcry, do you beg when you believe you were, at worst, edgy?
Or, do you marshal the support you received, and go rogue. Take control of the narrative, and become the "Bad Guy" to mirror all the nerdy voices of people like Wedge and the Professor? He played his hand hard, and clearly showed he is willing to take advantage of the otherwise bad situation, but how can you blame him?
TLDR: You cannot salute Sprankle for making money off of thirsty teenagers, and then blame Jeremy for capitalizing as the Minister of MTG in the Republic of Kekistan.

I've noticed that as well with his fans, at least in his comment section for his YouTube videos. While its not many, there are those who do criticize him for what hes been doing lately while trying to be respectful to him. Whats entertaining, at least in my opinion, is that these sorts of comments don't get his recognition. Instead its comments that are more equivalent to group-think, ones that share his opinion, an echo-chamber if you will.

Neither option helps him in the long run as both are self-destructive. The longer he keeps it up, the less credibility he has outside of those he has managed to gain as followers/subs. This isn't a "flash in the pan" where a single thing caused such controversy. Its been years of this stuff that he has been cultivating. What we are experiencing is his "boiling point".
Right now, I think Jeremy is trying to bait the other side into reacting so he could go "I caught you in your hypocritical act". The best we could all do is ignore him.
You could make a "read mean tweets" video, like the sports teams do when they reveal something unpopular, like a mascot, or team logo.

Hes already been trying to do that, its a dead horse at this point.
Ignoring/blocking him doesn't work, he still has cronies to continue feeding the fire.
The video idea sounds good in theory until you realize he will just turn it around as more fuel for the fire. Hes gotten even sympathetic stuff that hes also done the same with.
Jeremy's an irrelevant parody of himself at this point, and I was finished giving him clicks/views a few days ago. He's made his bed, and it won't be long before he's forced to lie in it. Good riddance.

The point of the mean tweets video is to show him you aren't affected by what Jeremy is doing to you. Most videos are showing people who worked for the "hated" organization saying IDGAF. If you can show that you won't retaliate, and his mean tweets are nothing to you, then his tweets and his followers' tweets are going to be ineffective. You do not need to block anything. Just pretend it is that spam in your e-mail that you ignore.
What he is doing right now is trying to expose the followers of his enemies into doing something where he could tell to an authoritative figure, "hey, this guy did something that I also did. Why are you crapping on me, and not this guy?" If you ignore him, and I mean just pretend his posts don't exist, and don't respond to him, he won't be able to gather evidence and say that he was the one being harassed.
You know that local newspaper writer that you hate? Do you read every single article in the newspaper? In print, there is no such thing as "ignore" button. The article is there for you to see, and you can't get rid of it. What you do is remove your attention away from the article. Maybe you take a glance at it, but as long as you remove attention away from what Jeremy says, or what his followers say, then Jeremy won't get what he wants, which is a retaliation.
Gravely incorrect. False accusations must be swiftly cut down, or they encourage more grandstanding and accusations. Apologize for what? Offending a girl 6 months later? Now who is infantalizing women?
Jeremy's an irrelevant parody of himself at this point, and I was finished giving him clicks/views a few days ago. He's made his bed, and it won't be long before he's forced to lie in it. Good riddance.
Agreed. I stumbled upon his channel maybe three years ago when he was doing fat pack opening videos; back then he portrayed himself as a decent human being who was all about the MTG community, going so far as to create an app to bring gamers together. Once that dumpster fire of a project failed, he had a hissy fit and learned he could get more clicks by stirring the ***** pot, flaming WotC and other Youtube personalities. That's when I stopped paying attention to him. I honestly thought he just stopped making videos until this *****storm occurred; after watching/reading his toxic rhetoric in regards to the matter, he's clearly an insecure *****bird who holds grudges and just doubles down on his vile behavior anytime he's criticized.
If he didn't tyrannize Sprankle, he would've berated someone else, because that's what scumbag trolls do. Either that or he's mentally ill. There's no other explanation for how his behavior could go from mild to fanatical over the span of a few years. Now he's apparently pulling the vicim card saying he's received death threats and hate mail; although I do believe that kind of juvenile behavior is not only pathetic, but criminal, this piece of ***** has to deal with the same heat he's dishing out. Treating others how you'd like to be treated isn't a difficult concept. If someone makes the conscious decision to publicly broadcast provocative vitriol that caters to immature 13 year olds and cretins of the Interwebs, then they better be prepared to reap what they sow. A few pages back somebody mentioned the phrase, "sex sells", which is true, and unfortunately the same can be said about controversial rhetoric. Once this cluster**** subsides, all one can do is ignore the mouth-breather and deny him the attention. Let's just hope Fox News doesn't decide to add him as an anchor.

Warning for flaming - flaming Jeremy is still flaming
He's very passive aggressive as well. Sometimes he will mockingly show off an attempt to mean well when it is actually a disguised ploy to trigger specific individuals watching the video. I'd post some of the signs of these here, but they'd likely get me in trouble (which should be more than enough information to tell you that they are just as bad to hear as they are to read...)

As with most big debates on this forum the mods manage to be in the wrong, even if they main point they are trying to make is correct.
I don't know much about the Jeremy guy or this situation, he seems to be in the wrong and the only thing that makes think he may not be guilty is they heavy handed way the leftest are handling this discussion.
I also want to point out the Irony the many of the people who are in the "words hurt" category are the same people who don't bat an eye at calling people nazis, altright, misogynist, racists and other deliberate mischareteraztions.
The the only reason I'm actually bothering to post here is to correct the gross mischaracterization that seems to have gone undressed.
You're in Canada, what do you think the good Professor Jordan Peterson would say about stating that we should always believe accusations without evidence, hell putting proof in quotation marks as if its some vague concept.
I'm going to be very blunt here: What the **** should I care about what someone who stridently opposed the bill (C-16, for the record) that would grant me equal rights at the federal level thinks? The man is an example of scaremongering from someone who opposes equal treatment for minority groups, nothing more.
He opposes compelled speech, not peoples rights, characterizing him that way just shows your unwillingness to understand any view point that opposes yours.
A 40 dollar mythic rare would constitute a must have 4 of that goes in many decks.
Stats About Mythics
-Mythics are on average 40% rarer than pre-mythic rares
(old blocks about 200 rares, Mythic blocks 35+ mythics)
-They are printing more new cards a year not less
(about 665 now vs. 630 in most pre-mythic block)
-To drop the value of a rare by $1 a mythic must go up $2
-In a 3 year time span deck prices doubled. I am petitioning for the removal of mythic rarity. Sig this to join the cause.
Is it me, or were comments closed for that extremely anti-anti-Hambly article on the main page?
The staff collectively made the decision that due to the level of toxicity in the comment section, comments will be disabled for that article.
I am sorry miss, but the "toxicity" was just disagreement about your extremely prejudicial and demeaning remarks towards conservatives, as well as people who sided with Jeremy on this issue.
In your article, you wove in Nazism in an inartful and inaccurate way, suggesting that some were Trump voters (I assure you, many voted for Bernie and Hillary as well, Nazism is statism), and that nobody should defend anyone identified as a "Nazi." But as you are aware, the terror organization Antifa and its many supporters have branded many conservatives as "Nazis", including those who, like myself, support ending illegal immigration, and halting entry of alleged refugees for civil-war-torn Muslim nations.
The Hambly-Sprankle situation has absolutely nothing to do with Nazism. Frankly, it is closer related to the Alt-Left college campus issue of false rape allegations than it is to Nazism.
If you wished to remove your article's comment section, the appropriate response is to remove the entire article. Placing it out there as law makes it all the more clear that your arguments are not strong enough to withstand scrutiny. I would never, ever want anything I wrote to be shielded from critique, or my writing and argument skills would never grow.

....Right? What planet do you come from where people who are marching in the streets, wielding symbolic torches, and calling for white supremacy aren't neo-Nazis? The "words hurt" folks didn't magically invent the phrase, "alt=right"; that was the handiwork of prominent white supremacist, Richard Spencer, who coined the term to disguise overt-racism, white nationalism, and neo-Nazism.
It's ***** like this that proves how detrimental the two-party system is to the U.S. Anybody who blindly labels conservatives as Nazis are morons. The same goes for people who blindly label progressives as communists. These are the people who regurgitate everything they hear from FOX News and MSNBC. However, if you sympathize with people who self-identify as a white supremacist/neo-Nazi, how else do you expect to be perceived? If you're caught on-tape conversing with Billy Bush about grabbing women by the genitals, how else should you be perceived? If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it's probably a duck. Or a self-hating Goose...
This is honestly a story that has outlasted its life. Sweep this under the rug, let his fans keep following him, and sraw no more attention to this.
Nah, the story hasn't outlasted itself.
You'd be right if Jeremy didn't post his lasted video on unsleeved media. Apparently not even he can let the story go as he made two videos on the matter.
You'd also be right if it weren't for the fact that his twitter keeps banging on about it.
I remember earlier you also said something like...
Gravely incorrect. False accusations must be swiftly cut down, or they encourage more grandstanding and accusations. Apologize for what? Offending a girl 6 months later? Now who is infantalizing women?

You'd be right if Jeremy didn't post his lasted video on unsleeved media. Apparently not even he can let the story go as he made two videos on the matter.
You'd also be right if it weren't for the fact that his twitter keeps banging on about it.
I remember earlier you also said something like...
If he simply apologized, this matter would have gotten, as you say "swept under the rug" by now.
EDIT: Plus this is the hill he wants to die on.
