I have dyslexia, no I am not going to spell check for you, yes you have to live with the horrors of it.

The Scarab God, along with the rest of Hour of Devastation, Amonkhet, Aether Revolt and Kaladesh, will rotate out of standard next year. They all rotate out with the release of whatever set comes after "Core 2019".
So to Ryperior, if you want to get it just go for it. Otherwise you will be waiting quite a year for it to rotate.
I don't know abot the dethrone Gisa and Geralf and Grimgrin, Corpse-Born as the zombie general. They have diferences to have enough diferent deckbuild paths to go.
Anyways i'm just as suprised for the insane price increase. It will drop afetr rotation, look at Archangel Avacyn. But the fact that hes also good in EDH and helms a very popular tribe might keep his price high but not at this ridiculous range.
Avacyn was different in a sense that she dropped quite a bit even in standard, although it was due to seeing less play as time went on. It also helped to be in a large set, while Scarab God is in a small set. I think a good comparison is with Liliana, the Last Hope in that they are the chase mythic in the small set and will keep their value.
Anyways Scarab God is insanely good being hard to remove, a great mana sink, and able to give your fragile creatures with great effects a better run as a bigger beefier creature. Temur Energy started splashing for him and now BG Snek has become Sultai for him too.
All of the price spikes that have happened recently aren't necessarily set in stone right now, the scarab god being included in this. Once the pro-tour happens things will get more settled in before the whole "price entropy" thing sets in. The Scarab God is an interesting card since it got a lot better with rotation than some other cards.

How did it get better? It lost a lot of good blue support, and a lot of already a zombie support cards.
It can go in any deck with creatures that can cast it and gain value surely, but I'm not seeing how it got better, unless you mean its biggest predators are gone.

There were never really any good blue support cards that rotated out that helped Scarab God, and zombies never played him either.
I wouldn't say it got better though, but I think it's definitely getting a better chance to shine.
You never saw it see play. I lost to it first round of Gameday to the eventual event winner.
-Diregraf Colossus
-Relentless Dead
-Crypt Breaker
-That terrible 1UB 3mana 3/3
-Liliana
-Rise from the Tides
+Arcane Adaptation.
Whats it shining against? Really good Ramunap Red? Dino$aurs? The eventually good Merfolk tribal deck? The not-bad Pirates deck? U/W Gifts? U/W Monuments(Slightlly different)
Woo, Mill & Cats are dead, now it can shine!

Last I checked Gameday isn't a good indication that a deck is good. All the top zombie decks were mono black. BW was the only other contender and even that died out near the end of last standard.
I'm not sure what Arcane Adaptation has to do with zombies now that it's gone. I definitely wouldn't be playing it now with Scarab God because zombies lost most of its cards.
I'm just saying it has a better chance to shine thanks to the smaller card pool and meta shifts. BG Snek evolved to Sultai thanks to a push from Hostage Taker and Scarab God. Temur Energy started shifting to four colors for Scarab God. That's two of the top three decks in Standard playing it. Scarab God is not a zombie support card, it's a creature support one. Everyone's playing for its activated effect of bringing back creatures from the grave, not the scry/drain one.
There's a chance it won't sit on the top for a long time considering there's tons of graveyard hosers and people might shift to playing exiling cards like Cast Out and Vraska's Contempt more often, so we'll see.
Actually, The Scarab God is definitely modern playable as well given what it wants to do. It's not really a mid-range card as much as a control card, and control decks can always exist in modern when the format shifts. The key thing to remember with the god is that he basically lets you use ETB early drops as spells to flash back at ones whim AND can take cards from the opponents graveyard and use them against them. It's really good, and it spits out tokens that pass the bolt test all day. Modern playable doesn't mean it has to be posted in a deck list on this forum somewhere in the modern forums. That usually means no one has bothered to mess with it enough or people are trying to cram it into some pre-existing thing.

Its a finisher.
But its very bad in modern, simply because its too slow and it performs especially bad against Path to Exile.
It does nothing against Affinity, its terrible against Grixis and no matter what, it just doesnt perform like it needs to.
In standard its great, as it dodges a ton of removal almost any removal outside of the white cards (and white is heavily under played at the moment, outside of the Approach UW deck, nobody really plays white cards at all, especially not the exile effects).
It works great against Glorybringer and the moment you untap with it, you have plenty of room to win with it and keep it on the board too.
If the format changes a lot to be more midrange , it could shine, just like Olivia did work in world full of Jund , as a card that wins if not answered and dominates from then on.
But its far from a card that would matter in modern and the stars need to align to make it an "important" card even more so.
I was actually about to start this same thread idea but I see that many people already beat me to it. I am very disgusted by the price of this card, and I could have gotten one for 10$ early on but didn't expect the price to shot up so hard. I need one for my Zombie commander deck but I refuse to pay 50$ for some card just because of its standard playability.
Glad i got mine in the pre roder. Even still this is ridiculous. its discusting how standard screw up prices like this. Glad i don't play standard anymore because these price spikes are revolting.

I don't see it playing Modern well, but maybe some broken Legacy fast mana Entomb/Exhume style stuff will work with it.
Selling some cards I don't want.
Generally less than tcg mid.
