News today of Toys R Us filing for bankruptcy. The one near me has a decent amount of magic stuff on a shelf in the middle of the floor near the registers. Just curious if anyone thinks these might go on sale if they decide to have a fire sale? and just wanted to give a heads up to anyone else who might want to look into it.
I wouldn't count on it. First, bankruptcy doesn't necessarily mean going out of business or anything like that. Second, trading cards in big stores are frequently stocked and priced by some other company you've never heard of.
With the exception of Walgreen's doing their sort of annual holiday sale on Magic, I can't ever recall any Magic product being on sale at a big-box store. Product sits until the vendor takes them back and rips out the content for various "clear box with random stuff you can't see half the time at a higher price but kind of a small discount only if you really wanted all the things in it" type products.

They filed for chapter 11 "We're going to survive!" not chapter 7 "liquidation is imminent".
