I am considering purchasing a booster box of Enteral Masters and sitting on it for a few years to resell it later. Just purely a speculative investment.
I know the prices of a lot of the big name cards released in the set have fallen since its release (Karakas, Mana Crypt, Force of Will etc...)
I guess my questions is does any one think there is a chance for a rebound in prices?
This is assuming that there will not be another Eternal Masters for quite some time.
Buying sealed product in the hopes of reselling it later is always going to be a risky investment.
After all WotC could ban cards in the set from seeing tournaments, which can tank the prices of the set overall. Or they could reprint cards in future reprint/commander sets that can affect the prices of other printings.
A quick look on MtgGoldfish.com, gives us this the average prices for all the Master sets: Modern Masters
At release - $350
Current price - $449
So the original Modern Masters is the only one that has significantly shot up higher than its starting price. That would be down to a combination of factors, so I wouldn't put much money on other Masters sets repeating this trend, since they haven't done.
Also keep in mind, while there might not be an "Eternal" Masters set anytime soon, we already have confirmed that there is Iconic Masters later this year. And next year we have Magic 25. So who knows what sort of reprints those sets could see.
Well that is just my opinion on the matter, so take it for what it's worth.
