Really I just want to scream. Mind you it isn't my collection that was stolen, just a few cards. So I bought some cards of tcgplayer, couple of expeditions and a few full art land foils. They were delivered today, my wife got them from the mailman. Between the time my wife received them and me getting home, they have vanished. She put them on my fold out table in the living room. The only people that have been in my house today are my wife, step daughter and step daughter's friend. My wife left before I got home to goto a doctors appointment, until then she had been in the living room. I'm just frustrated, I have searched everywhere. Called the police and filed a report, but they did nothing, called the two LGS by me and told them about the cards in case someone was selling those exact cards. Just needed to vent, sorry.
I'm sorry to hear. The town I lived in actually had a guy who stole TONS of valuable single cards from tons of people here, and went a town over to sell them. Luckily he was chased outta' the MtG community here. Hopefully you find your cards, any chance someone broke into the car while your wife was getting home..? Or, maybe did the cards just weren't included in the package and are shipping separately from the other cards you got? Hope everything gets sorted out soon for yea'

Yeah that sucks b. I'm not particularly trusty at my LGS's even though my buds are around. Same sort of thing happened at one of the stores I frequent, and the dude was banned. Tough breaks man.
So someone broke into your house, stole only the cards that were just delivered today off the table, and left in a narrow window of time? That's not really plausible. It sounds like you need to have a talk with your step-daughter and her friend, or else you've completely misplaced them.

Yeah, this. Nobody staged a magically perfect burglary and then took only some singles. It sounds like the prime suspects are your stepdaughter and her friend.
The MTG community is full of kleptomaniacs. We attract some of the worst people to the gaming hobby.
It's more a case of 'opportunity makes a thief'. Valuable cards are close to as good as money, easily pocketable and often laying on a table. You wouldn't leave money like this.
BZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTT! Wrong!
MTG attracts collectors, collectors are opportunistic creatures. Kleptomaniacs are often collectors as well. An entire community of collectors is going to be very attractive to a kleptomaniac. Hence, MTG has a higher than normal ratio of scumbag kleptos.
I had a lot of cards stolen just over a year ago. Fortunately, the kid who stole them wasn't bright and I got them back. I won't go into it but it feels terrible.
I'm so careful with who I let know what I have now because of it, it sucks not being able to trust people
