Hi all. I am looking for help with a deck idea I have, I've been playing this deck and working out my idea for a while now, and I have good success with it in the casual rooms, but would like to ramp it up to a potential tournament worthy deck.
It is what I (a newbie by all accounts) call a Speed Mill deck. I can manage a turn 5/6 kill with this against 75 card (and under)decks on a consistent basis.
The basic idea is card draw, card draw, card draw.
From here if nothing has gotten removed its just a turn or two before most decks are milled. Adding a second Tutelage or Archivist will speed it up. Having a Geth's Grimiore out will also speed it up because when you tap Jaxe's Archivist your opponent draws as well, essentially doubling up your draw
One thing I know that is lacking is a way to exile. I have [Tormond's Crypt and Leyline of the Void in my collection as options. Are there any others?
Sideboard suggestions are needed, as I never put one together playing in the Casual ques. {card}Mind Spring[/card] and similar cards wee in earlier versiond of the deck I have been considering.
Also when I have tried to play in 1-1 matches or in the League I run into a lot of removal stuff i would like to find a counter for that would fit in here.
Just so you know Modern is a VERY fast format right now. There are lots of decks like yours that ignore what the opponent is doing and just combo off and win, but theirs are much faster and easier to get the pieces. Yours unfortunately is way too slow, unreliable, and most pieces are subpar and useless on their own. Modern is a format that most decks can kill you on turn 4 or even 3, whether by attacking, burning you, comboing off, or pulling an infinite, so unless you feel like your deck can compete against that, you will find it hard to compete against. The decks themselves even have sideboard cards that normally are for other decks but will shut your strategy down completely with no way to win, such as Leyline of Sanctity.
Mill decks have never been seen as competitive, but if you want to do well with one, don't be cute with a billion pieces that need to work together to pull it off. Rather, just have actual mill cards that work on their own like Mind Funeral, Hedron Crab, and Glimpse the Unthinkable.

If it goes well, the play order I've found to work best is
Turn 1 Elixir Of Immortality
Turn 2 Lightning Greaves
Turn 3 Sphinx's Tutelage
turn 4 Jace's Archivist and tap it with the one remaining blue mana
