I do find it interesting that MaRo always uses some variant of the same answer over and over again "We only go to popular planes.", but conveniently ignores the fact that he is frequently asked if we will be visiting Kamigawa again. Unfortunately MaRo refuses to give us the straight answer:
Kamigawa is one of the most asked for planes for a re-visit.
Kamigawa was one of the least financially successful blocks in the set due to poor mechanics that had little interaction outside itself. Hasbro wants the money. They will not return to Kamigawa because it didn't make enough money. It has nothing to due with popularity. Magic is a capitalist product; they won't print a block or return to a plane unless they think they can make the biggest money they can.
I'd have a lot more respect for MaRo if he wasn't just a mouth piece and actually told us like it was.

Or may be, just perhaps, he is giving you the straight answer. You just don't like it and don't want to hear it.
Yes Kamigawa might currently be the most asked for plane currently. But that is out of very small self selecting subset of the magic players.
WOTC has done the market research and has got the numbers to prove that Kamigawa is one of the worst performing blocks/settings and they have no incentive to go back there. Constantly bugging MaRo on Tumblr and other venues won't change that.

No, I have no issue being told the truth, which is why I'd prefer that MaRo actually tell us the truth over hiding behind corporate-fed responses.
Kamigawa was one of the worst sets mechanically (which lead to terrible sales), which is not the same thing as saying the least-liked plane. The two are not mutually inclusive to one another. Hasbro exists to make money, fair enough, so they won't revisit Kamigawa because it had terrible sales. Fair enough.
That's not the same thing as "least popular plane." Kamigawa is very popular for numerous reasons, including art, story, legendary cards (EDH Heaven) and there are many people asking frequently if WotC will revisit the plane. Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Reddit, etc.
My issue is with MaRo claiming that Kamigawa isn't popular and using that as an excuse not to discuss the planes potential for a future visit; it's unfeasible for Hasbro to return to Kamigawa because of previous sale records. Just say that and be done with it, instead of trying to claim that Kamigawa, the plane itself, is unpopular.
I'd like to see a return to Kamigawa, because I started somewhere in Mirrodin and Kamigawa was my first new world. So its kind of nostalgia.
I'd like to see a return to Ulgrotha just for a joke but I doubt they'd do it
kamigawa was the first plane when i was first introduced to MtG, but didn't start playing until Innistrad. Kamigawa made me think, ohh that looks cool.
We really need to go back.
I know a few people who played back then and would like to go back. I also know a few guys who didn't play back who would like to play dring a return to Kamigawa
Lorewise, I found Theros to be an exercise in boredom. Narratively, I'd be into a return to Theros if Ajani found himself the center of a paradox - becoming a God to the Godless. A rallying point for the people that are opposed to the Gods that has Godhood thrust upon him by the magic of Theros. I would make embracing Red a part of Ajani's arc - taking the blind of rage the leonin, his followers, and forging into a weapon with which to lash out against the Gods and their followers. At the same time, I would start Elspeth on a path to embracing Green and Blue; Green in accepting that there are people on Theros that have legitimate reasons to love the Gods, Blue in finding a way to help the Godloving crowd defend themselves and their way of life from Ajani's people. Ultimately, I'd have it set up so that Ajani and Elspeth wind up going against one another.
I too thought Theros was extremely boring. Your suggestion sounds pretty interesting, but isn't Elspeth dead?
First off, I really want to go back to post-apocalyptic Dominaria one last time. It's an important place, what with being the Nexus of the Multiverse and all. I think it should be formally destroyed and erased, so that we can see the ramifications throughout the multiverse.
I'd love to see this too, as long as the Gatewatch stayed far, far away. But since Dominaria wasn't an option, I voted Kamigawa. It seems like a lot of players would really enjoy a return to Kamigawa, but WotC's current stance seems to indicate that they wouldn't go back to a plane which was poorly received initially and has so many self-contained mechanics. Standard would be pretty crappy, but limited would be great! (and I don't play standard, ha ha!)

From what we know of Theros death is not a solid wall, more a revolving door. If there is enough reason to bring her back as a character Creative does have an out they can use. Whether she would still be a planeswalker or not is unkown though.

Ah, thanks. Well in that case TaheenMage's idea would be interesting if implemented and is even feasible storyline-wise. Although Wizards would undoubtedly try to cram the the Planeteers in if they ever returned to Theros (bleh).
This sounds silly, but the terribleness of Homelands - cards, art, powerlevel - still bugs me when it comes to Ulgrotha. I appreciate that the story actually was amazing, but even 20 years later I still get twitches when thinking about it. Mercadia got my vote, at least a bunch of great cards came out of that block.

I think it could help meld Liliana into the group if the Gatewatch visits. She'll be an orphan of the multiverse, and it might lead to her working more regularly with the Gatewatch so that they can have the full color pie.
Of course, this has nothing to do with "lonely" planes, lol

Eh, I really don't like the Gatewatch concept but I imagine that Wizards would cram them in there if they ever returned to Dominaria or any of the listed planes. Unless, of course, it was a non-standard set like Conspiracy, which would actually be really cool!
I don't care where we go, as long as Winter is ComingTM. I have a serious Jones for some full-art Snow lands, and I don't care which plane they have to put through an apocalypse to give them to me.
