My personal worst mechanic is infect. It takes something that should be a cool and flavourful alternate win condition - poison - and turns it into the exact same win condition we've all been using for years.

Yeah, infect is pretty bad. Powerful, but bad. Wither was fine, though.
Domain is a godawful mechanic. It forces you to play an awkward deck in limited, but the benefits were too slim to be worth it. All of the domain effects were solid at 5 colors, playable at 4, and below average or bad at 3 or fewer. None of them were strong enough to see constructed play, even with the benefits provided by shocklands and other duals with land types.
