SonofaBith - Wizards was so excited about making the packaging for Modern Masters 2 recyclable, they decided to make most of the rares and all but 1 of the UC's recycle-bin ready too. Convenient!
This video doesn't show off my primary concern about the new pack design, which is if there is a plastic seal to protect from moisture. That's a serious concern for people thinking to buy a box and squat on them for a while.
But yes, this does show the possibility for superdickery. Probably a good thing this experiment is a one of... right?... Right???
I was under the impression that all boxes that come from WotC now are shrinkwrapped/moisture isn't getting inside shrinkwrap unless it's torn or something.
Yeah this is pretty stupid though. Come home and see this all over the place. Lucky for me I wasn't planning on buying any packs of this anyways and especially not second hand or anything as if I draft this set it's being done at vegas or my LGS who isn't going to pull something like this on people because they're good people.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."

The boxes will be sealed but if there is no plastic inside the packs then well as a guy that lives in very humid florida im expecting a LOT of ruined cards.

It looks as though there is no glue holding the top and bottom tabs in place, which is super sketchy to me. What I did notice is that you could see that the cardboard on the top tab was creased from the person's fingers pulling it out. But of course this can't be noticed until you open it yourself. And I'm sure someone interested in repacking this will easily find a way to open them up like they were in the video without creasing the tabs.
I saw someone on tumblr tag Wizards in a post of the video, and I submitted something myself to Maro. I know we're super late in the game here but this really sucks for those planning to buy loose packs. And it's entirely possible stores can take advantage of this for drafts by rigging the packs to keep the valuables for their case and the crap to the players. Hopefully we hear some sort of comment from someone at Wizards.

Understand, Dredge is not really a Magic: The Gathering deck. When a card is playable in it, it doesn't mean it's a tournament playable card. It means it's playable in whatever crazy fantasy world that Dredge operates in.
It's pretty easy to see that the pack has been tempered with, the cardboard seems very creased.
Besides, it's always been a bad idea to buy loose packs on the internet (what with box mapping and all), and I do trust my FLGS, so I won't be avoiding the packs because I don't trust the retailer... Even if it's that easy, it really doesn't bother me.
Oh, and another thing. Why are there two ad cards/tokens in that pack? Could this entire video be fake somehow?

Why? Are your existing cards ruined now? I live in SW Florida, and have a $25,000 collection, have yet to have even a single card ruined by the climate. My cards are stored in a variety of ways: sleeved, in pages in binders, loose in white storage boxes...MM15 should be no more susceptible to humidity than your normal collection.

That works as a detection method if you know what to look for or if you're astute enough to notice it ahead of time and connect it to tampering. A random, casual buyer could easily either not notice or not really care until too late.
This is what WOTC has to say regarding the MM2 packaging issue: Link
Looks like your standard business-y noncommittal non-answer to me.
Yup. They may as well have said tough titties. I'll be buying from LGS only I guess. I picked up a MM1 pack for $25 in trade at a GP for fun a few months ago - I doubt I would ever do that for MM2.
WOTC rarely wants to admit that what they did was wrong until at least a year or so later... (Fast Forward 5 Years) "Oh yeah storm was broken".... "Dragons Maze didnt turn out quite like we expected.. We we're testing whether we could sell a set with one value mythic and a planeswalker... We realize our playerbase was much to smart for that"
I don't want to overreact to something like this, but I feel like buying product at stores like WalMart (which was already risky if you weren't careful) is a really bad idea for MM2015, if they stock any.

Well, I think that it is good that they're reminding people to buy only from trustworthy sources, at the least. I imagine we'll here more details in the coming days. Detailed statements on these things take time, as does most of everything with corporations as large as WotC.
Makes me double question the idea of holding onto prize packs forever. It seems correct to take the packs as prizes, but you almost might as well open them immediately or trade while at the store. Holding them will only cast suspicion when you try to resell later, unless you are collecting enough prize packs to do a draft among friends later.
