It is well known in my group, that if you plan to use my cards, or search them for trades that arent rares, it will take you a good hour or two to do so.
Now its not that i particularly like my main box for deckbuilding and non-rare trades being so disorganized, it just seems to happen over time. I organize, alphabetize, and within a week or two, its all hodge podge messy again. So i often just let it stay that way until I feel like spending the time to organize it again. Maybe Im working against myself?
On a second note, I do get the occasional person visibly feeling pain at the site of my main boxes outstanding organization status, at which I reply...well It varies. Sometimes I reply I just dont care if im feeling particularly not-carey. Othertimes Im just like they arent rares, which yes I know, if you read some of my other posts and threads, I like to take good care of rares. So again i seem to be working against myelf. Idk. Most of the people who come across my box, MOST (lol), find it hilarious to a certain degree..........
I cleaned and organized the box. Have 1 whole sides worth of trash lol
Even if you just stand them up in the box like they're supposed to, facing the same direction, it doesnt take very long and searching through it is infinitely easier.
Geeze, I thought I was bad...but my stuff is at least in piles.
That's so bad I almost feel like it has to be staged. I think it would actually be easier to put cards back into the box the right way, rather than just jam everything in there like it is.
To be honest when the card are in rows looking through them becomes difficult. If you pick one stack of cards, the other cards will fall flat and become really diffcult pick up. It's also difficult to manage where you were after you try to pick a new stack of cards.

You condone such a disorderly display?! Are you the kind of person who parks your car crooked and just leaves it like that?!
The... the box has columns! Organization has been incorporated into the design! You can put in dividers to keep the cards orderly while you look through them if it continues to vex you! It... you... just...
...I need an aspirin. Never should have clicked on this thread. Damn you, Orion. x_x
It's not like there is nothing wrong with little disorder. Dividers aren't really optimal either. If they are fixed in position they can get bent and broken and if they are not fixed they take more card space.

Now I’m no scientist or anything, and I don’t claim to be an expert on tidiness, but I’m pretty sure orionancient’s box transcends the definition of “a little disorder” by a wide margin.
The best part about this photo is that, were it a shoebox or something similar that just had loose cards in it, it wouldn’t bother me. The fact that it’s a heap of cards strewn inside a box with orderly card alignment built into its very design is just…. Hold on. My nose is bleeding.
All the comments. Lots of lols. I knew you guys would like this. And it's not staged lol. And there's some hookah coals in the box, and a notepad, some colored pencils, some thumbtacks, and some random misc trash.

The joke would be on us if people went looking through your box of cards to find things that weren't cards.
"Hey dude, you got any yellow thumbtacks? I need a 15th for my board tonight."
That's so bad I almost feel like it has to be staged.
Color me skeptical as well.
I had a buddy who used to dump all of his draft jank into a suit case, and it would look like this, but that's because it was a suit case. The fact that is a box designed specifically to hold cards leads me to believe that people would not haphazardly shove them into it like that, even if they were cards you didn't care about. My playgroup in high school were absolute sloths to the point that I wouldn't even bother trading with them due to the filth accumulated on their cards, and even their stuff was put away better than that.
It would take less effort just to put them in the correct way, even if they were upside down, facing the wrong direction, etc. Loose sleeves and a few scattered cards on the top I could understand. The rows dumped over at the ends would also make sense. Stuffing them in there along with wrappers and other trash as though you're actively trying to tear them up leads me to believe this is either (a) staged or (b) a pile of cards that's headed for the dump.

Yeah, this is pretty bad. It's seriously not that hard to at least stack the cards so they fit inside the rows. That can't take more than five minutes.
Yep, he will be on here in 20 years talking about how he used to just throw around commons and uncommons and how he once had 5 of those $500 uncommons and will point back to this pic as proof... Sad, my eyes hurt.
Lol. It's not staged. They are junk commons. I really do just throw the cards back in there like that. It's a ***** to sort through them. But sometimes I'm in a real hurry and just throw them back in there to get them off the table. Why does it have to be staged? Some people can be naturally messy with their cards, or disorganized. I've seen collections far worse than this. Some of these posters come off as ignorant assuming that their view of mtg players applies to everyone.
Yeah, I guess "ignorant" is the right word for it, as I've literally never seen anyone's cards anywhere near that disorganized. The worst I ever see are unsorted stacks. I mean, dude, my garbage is literally more organized than that box of cards is...
(seriously...I sort out the recyclables, the compostable material, and the regular garbage)
I am similar... Organization has really never been my strong suit. My rares and traders binder is the only thing I have organized. My commons are in shoe boxes under my bed. I will reorder commons instead of digging through the boxes.
