The Wizards dailymtg.com site has even more images, even less text, and is even harder to read. The 2013 version looked mediocre but was very functional on tablets or computers. The early 2014 version lost functionality on tablets but kinda worked on desktops. Now, there is so much mouse scrolling needed to do anything that the site is almost worthless.
I've stopped clicking on links to the site; if there are multiple decklists on any page my browser slows to a crawl and will sometimes crash, it's not worth my time to risk it.
I only go for their articles, so I never see their main page, and have the articles bookmarked so I don't have to search their site. I can't use it on any mobile device, which really sucks, as I used to surf their site while on break at work.
I am not pleased by the new design, since it has not been that long since the last time that WotC redesigned their website. Why does WotC keep changing this game and its website? Why have they not learned to not fix what is not broken?

While I agree completely that the new site is absolutely horrible, I haven't seen anyone say anything about the new Planeswalkerpoints.com. They made it tougher to log on. I actually avoided the site for a month, unheard of for myself.

Legacy - Sneak Show, BR Reanimator, Miracles, UW Stoneblade
Premodern - Trix, RecSur, Enchantress, Reanimator, Elves https://www.facebook.com/groups/PremodernUSA/ Modern - Neobrand, Hogaak Vine, Elves
Standard - Mono Red (6-2 and 5-3 in 2 McQ)
Draft - (I wish I had more time for limited...)
Commander - Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build) (dead format for me)
To be fair, the abyss between Wizards and the digital world is a long-time running gag, between MTGO, the multiple gaffes (releasing sets and posting articles before the due date), the lack of QA (new Gatherer? No more comments for you! Hope you enjoy!), all older links that suddenly became invalid, etc. Add the absurdly delayed coverage (yeah, it's 6PM, so let's post round 4 pairings) and ultra-static content, and you're set for a good 1990's web experience!
Everything on it is so fidgety. When I scroll with my mouse wheel, it seems like everything is disconnected from each other, and when I'm done, everything locks back in place at a slightly different speed. It's very disjointed. Also, I'm not sure why I need a giant picture that takes up the top 2/3 of my 24 inch monitor telling me about the feature articles.

Yeah, they managed to screw up the Planeswalker points site with the new account system. The login screen is very buggy, and for a lot of players, me included, old points have been lost. I emailed them a couple of weeks back about it, but nothing has happened & I haven't heard anything since the initial exchange.
The new Dailymtg site is just horrendously bad, and I definitely went from being a frequent visitor to only bothering to check it if I want to check standings of an event I really care about. I understand them wanting it to look fancy and all, but it's coming at the expense of usability. Pages are slow to load, and it takes a lot more time to find what you're looking for due to everything being in the region of 10 times larger than what's really necessary. The old site wasn't great either, primarily due to how hard stuff was to find, but at least it was efficient. The new site is unplayable, to use a Magic term.
Their new design reminds me of the 1990s fad of making websites FULLY in flash, making it take, literally, several minutes to load each page (in addition to being ugly as hell).
Went to their site a few times in the past and said to hell with it. Huge load times lots of scrolling. Absolutely horrible. Wether im on highspeed broadband or hotspot its slow and ugly. Its painful and i swaer alot on their website
I used to go to the wizards.com website an average of 1 time per day and now I go 1 time per month. Finding the Top 8 and other information about a Grand Prix is so much worse. I hate to sound like the complainer that I am but I don't know anything positive that has come from this.

Well, to be fair, their site has been kind of awful for a while. I'm not sure I would advise not making changes since their site desperately needs improvement. I'm assuming that was the goal, and they just don't know how to do it so make it worse all the time.
I think this version is an improvement over the abomination they've been using for the last few months, but it's still really bad, and a huge step down from their previous site. At least this version somewhat functions on mobile, although when it comes to charts, like the PTQ schedule, I'm not sure if putting each column on a separate row is preferable to only being able to see 2 of the 8 columns and not being able to scroll left/right...
It really is obscene how WotC just continually regresses with each new version of their main internet offerings.

Haven't visited their site since the redesign. Now there is even less of a reason to.
This - no doubt they are monitoring the drop in traffic, which prompted the re-redesign, but they have again made a bad situation worse. Maybe in a couple of months they will return to the old, navigable format with a simple apology?
MTG website links are in the form of a bunch of huge rectangles and squares.
Windows 8 and Xbox One "links" are in the form of a bunch of huge rectangles and squares.
I think it has something to do with Washington State. (Not to be confused with DC).
There is a trend with site design lately that encourages that modular block look. Like you mentioned, Microsoft uses it, but it's starting to pick up steam with car radios and other tech as well. If I had to guess I'd say it's probably because of the desire to emulate apps on a phone. Everyone is comfortable with the concept of a grid of apps on an iPhone, so hey, let's make everything all griddy. Kids love grids. If it's good enough for Mendel, it's good enough for end users.
Am I the only one that gets articles that have no relevance when looking for Daily MTGO Decklists? I can not find them anywhere; had no problem before.
Really, that's all I can say about it.

On the plus side, semi-functional product information pages, working column archives, and I can actually find the coverage from the first page!!

I used to read the 2013 site on a mobile phone. The present one would be worse on a 10 inch tablet.
