OK, so we have symbols for all ten guilds of Ravnica. And we now we have symbols for the clans on Tarkir. Just wondering, does anyone know what the Alaran shard symbols/watermarks would have looked like? Just curious, because those are the only color combinations (other than 4 color and chromatic) that don't have any watermarked cards, or even a symbol to show a kind of unity between them.
That might be because the shards were initially ignorant of each other's existence.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
I just don't think they realized how much people like watermarks when it comes to factions. They may have underestimated their popularity in general, or thought it was only in relation to the guilds. It would have been cool to see shards related cards watermarked. Of course, as the shards merged, some cards represented spells or creatures that were a product of more than one shard or of the interaction between the newly merged shards, so they would have had to be left without a watermark. There wasn't any in-world reason they didn't include them though.

The Meaning of Life: "M-hmm. Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations"
Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!

I'd agree with this. Bant having a "Bant Symbol" would be the same as Earth making its own planetary flag right now - who are we going to show it to? To Bantians, there was no such thing as a non-Bantian.
There are plenty of sci-fi shows where humankind is a single nation under a single flag (or space-age equivalent), but only in ones where we are in contact with other sentient races. Maybe if we see a Return to Alara, we'll get watermarks then (hint hint, Wizards).
