I'm trying to find someway to unload the 44 Elvish Mystics I have. What do you guys do with all the extra copies of commons you don't need? I'd like to get some return if possible, is there someone out there that buys them?
Honestly, I give away custom built starter decks with all the bulk commons/uncommons/rares. Gets people hooked on the game and then I tell them I also sell and trade cards if they get into the game.
Thankfully, my local gaming store will purchase one-thousand commons and uncommons for a single price from customers, a deal that I have used only once, since only once have I been able to accumulate such a large number of cards.

I mainly get my stock of cards from packs and boxes, so I end up with tons of stuff I never use. I have a "4" policy of keeping four copies of each card for collection purposes, but I'm starting to get overrun! I might try selling them on Amazon or something.
The issue with selling them online is that the shipping costs are huge and take a large chunk out of any money you might receive. As DemonDragonJ suggested, I think your best bet is to visit local gaming stores and ask if any of them buy bulk commons/uncommons.
Just keep all your cards in a big big box under your bed and pile them up.
After years i browse throu them and find a lot of cards that got insane expensive.
Like about 20-25 Remand , yea check what that card goes for, its a freaking uncommon !
Serum Visions, like 50 of them, a freaking COMMON ! yea check the price, do it !
So many random cards for some EDH/Commander decks, its even fun to browse throu your old cards, like 10+ years old cards.
As i put all the cards from FNM drafts and the like into the boxes without sorting them, you can even find your old decks from the limited events, they are just pile after pile, its really fun and nostalgic as it can get.
I recommand that to anyone.
Just put all cards that are worth something in a box , playsets you want to keep anyway and all the rest in the giant boxes under your bed (i have a king size bed, plenty of room).
If you dont have any more space under your bed, get kids and put cards under their beds aswell ;P
Check to see if your LGS will buy bulk cards either by weight or longbox. My lgs pays like $8-$10 for a longbox full of commons, which is better than them sitting around taking up space.
I did manage to sell my elvish mystics (only to gain them all back in M15) but it wasn't that many.
Build "intro decks" and give them to new players?
We have a collated couple of boxes of commons at my Uni Games club.. sometimes we are bored of our usual decks and build decks out of the boxes to play against each other.
I keep 4 of everything in binders. If they have animals on them, I give them to my 3 year old daughter to put in her binder with her Questing Phelddagrif. The rest go in boxes for when she's older. Of course, that may not work in your situation.
I have a decent understanding of cards, so when I open packs, I sift through it and if I see something that is unique or does something better than another good card, I keep it stored. The rest, I bin. I'm not going to sell them, and I have a finite amount of space.
I have a big junk box at my house that I allow my friends to dig through. Sometimes, they find some stuff they can actually use.
Every once in awhile, I give them all to my teacher friend. He has his kids (Grade 2 or 3, I think) use them for arts and crafts!!! They build castles, crowns, and all sorts of cool things out of them.

At my LGS, there will always be that one kid who didn't win a game all night, probably playing with an intro pack he got for his birthday or something. I'll just toss him a handful out of my extras box. It will at least give him a base to limp along on for awhile.
Also keeping extras around for building starter decks for anybody you want to get into the game. Build a simple green stompy or blue permission deck for a beginner to teach them the game. Let them keep it, and they'll be able to practice with others.

You should give them to new players (such as me).
They (I) really like it.

First come the goblins. Hordes of them. But soon the ramp produced by xenagos attracts monstrous token-producing hydras. Towering over the battlefield, these 12-headed killing machines are protected 2 archetypes of endurance as they crash any resistence left
I also give excess cards away to a guy who teaches kids to learn how to play the game. Feels a lot better than anything else that costs $8 (44 x $0.19).
Honestly... the best thing to do IMO is just go through and pick out cards that could potentially be worth anything in the long term and then dump the rest. Usually it's like 2-3 cards per pack. If you draft and play standard enough you'll quickly get an eye for what cards are going to be garbage. If it's a vanilla card like Alabaster Kirin or an effect that has been printed many times like Kill Shot... no use in keeping them around. Sometimes there will be fringe situations where it's useful in standard or EDH for some reason, but those times are rare for cards like Kill Shot and if it does happen, you have to realize that you can still go to basically any LGS and buy said cards for 10 cents.
Honestly this goes for uncommons and a lot of rares. You would think that EDH would have raised the price dramatically on some of these rares that get a lot of play in these EDH decks, but if you go look at the value of the cards in those decks and a lot of the rares are maybe a few bucks tops. It's stuff like Sylvan Library or Vampiric Tutor that cost a lot of money.

I will always firmly stand by the belief that Magic is a game first and a collectable second.
I use mine to practice alters or as proxy backing, and save any EDH staples in a seperate box (stuff like Gary, etc.).
Then again, I use proxies often enough that I deliberately buy large boxes of junk commons and land for extra backing.
Most Used (of many dozens) EDH Decks:
Brago, King Eternal - Stax
Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - Aggro Combo
Wort, the Raidmother - Spellslinger Swarm Control
Animar, Soul of Elements - Tempo Combo
Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder - Spellslinger
Exodia the Forbidden One:
Oona, Queen of the Fae - Combowins.dec

How much for 12 Serum visions?:P Yes, I am serious:)
If anyone want to sell me like 12 or 16 of them at a reasonable price, I'm interested! I use them in too many decks:>
