MTG Salvation

Hi I am making a black/blue zombie deck and I have seen alot of decent cards but I was wonder if any of you guys had a zombie that you believe should always in a zombie deck. They can be modern or legacy.

Gravecrawler is really good in a zombie deck. Geralf's Messenger was played a lot in standard, but I don't know if he'll find a spot in legacy. Haakon, Stromgald Scourge is fun in a theme deck.

Zombies have enough lords that you can start with a pile of them as a base:
Undead Warchief
Death Baron
Lord of the Undead
Cemetery Reaper
Diregraf Captain

Gempalm Polluter and Korlash, Heir To Blackblade

If i must to point THE ZOMBIE card, i'd call:
Lord of the Undead.
A card that fits any zombie deck, and makes the entire deck better.
Put ANY zombie alongside with him, any of any list, and it'll be better.

Lord of the Undead is a must have in a zombie deck.

If you want to have the OG zombie lord that was turned into a zombie down the line put Zombie Master in your deck. I started playing in Revised Zombie Master will always hold special memories for the long time players.

Zombie Master and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth it's like Overrun for Zombies. 2 More Undead Gladiator and Rotlung Reanimator.

Shepherd of Rot

Shepherd of Rot and Gempalm Polluter with Ensnaring Bridge and Grafted Skullcap was a big part of the original Zombie bridge deck.

For sure run Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. He makes all your zombies bigger, makes them come back when they die, he usually can't be blocked, and as a added bonus he kills off your opponent's humans! He's especially great with a way to sacrifice things and Gray Merchant of Asphodel.

Corpse Harvester is great. Pairs well with Undying.

Phyrexian Crusader is decent.
