As the topic title asks, what colour are you planning on picking? Seems like Wizards are pushing Black on us. I kept changing my mind as different cards were spoiled, but I figure it comes down to which colour can get the most out of a pairing with another colour.
I would say considering the strength of the previous sets and the prerelease promos, white is probably the safest bet for a competitive deck at prerelease.
I am personally going black. I really like the commons/uncommons for black and I think it could probably pair well with any of the colors. I'm also a little biased because I've always been a big fan of the black mechanics in Magic. Cards like Bloodcrazed Hoplite just make me excited plus I'm still holding out hope for my on color rare being King Macar, the Gold-Cursed because he would be so fun in limited.
The thing is, most of your deck will be made up of commons and uncommons, not just the rares. So with that in mind I have decided to go for White (W). When I asked my nephew whether I should choose White or Green, however, he shouted: “Red!”
I'm all aboard the Red train. No stops on the aggro express.
Red's also served me well in the past. Did pretty good at the BNG prerelease with it, and I feel similarly about this one.
I initially was leaning towards white or black, but on further consideration I'll be going green. Reason is that JOU has three green ramp cards at common (Font of Fertility, Golden Hind and Market Festival), and the first two of those three are very strong. Hopefully with a green emphasis I'll be able to ramp quickly into fatties, whilst pairing green with either black for removal or blue for bounce.

Love. Forgive. Trust. Be willing to be broken that you may be remade.
Does any know which gods we'll have the chance to pull in each color? That might determine what I actually want to play at prerelease. Lived the dream last prerelease winning two matches via Phenax mill. At the moment I'm leaning towards White or Green though, I feel like those two colors have the most depth C/UC wise.
White - Iroas
Blue - Kruphix
Green - Pharika
Black - Athreos
Red - Keranos
So long as it shares a color, you've got a chance of getting that god in the seeded pack. Otherwise, it's any plain rare in that color. No other potential mythics. No Godsend. No Sage of Hours. No Prophetic Flame Speaker. No Worst Fears. Those are booster pack only.
I'm only going to get to play twice this time between work and the Nets playing Sunday. At least I get to play at all. I'm thinking White and Black although I'm considering Blue for an extra shot at Keranos but that doesn't seem like a good reason. Black has been my favorite color to play in Theros Limited and White seems like the best color in JOU so that's probably what I'm going to do.
White has the best Promo card if anyone wants to use that as a deciding factor.
White the first night, probably Black and then Green on Saturday and Sunday. White and Black are solid across all 3 sets, enough to take my chances with them. Green because I want a promo Hydra.

Cards are game pieces, and should be treated as such, easily replaceable.
Cards are not money, investments, or a retirement fund, and should never have been treated as such.
Wizards made a mistake caving to speculators once, and we still pay for that mistake 2 decades later.

I will pick green. Green. the color of my money staying in my pocket for this boring ass set capping off a boring ass block. Homelands called, they're happy to have a roommate in the underwhelming sets hotel.
'S not a theory, friend. Just like with Born of the Gods, you can get either of the two gods that share the color of your box. My alternatively wasn't a "these are the only options," it was a "here are the other options to the above." Sorry for the confusion.
EDIT: To quote the pre-release primer for verification - "...And speaking of helping you play that color, your seeded pack contains a selection of Journey into Nyx cards weighted toward the chosen color. So, for example, if you pick Forged in Tyranny (black), you will get a seeded pack with mostly (but not exclusively) black cards in it, all from Journey into Nyx, including one rare. Oh but wait! That rare can actually be a mythic rare God card that shares the color you picked (but no other mythic rare)."
Actually, for BOTG there was one god possible in each color, one was assigned to each. That is the same this time most likely. It says also there it can be a god that shares your color, not either god that shares your color.
Going to two prereleases. I will be picking White because the promo seems very strong. My second color will either be blue or black, it's pretty much up in the air. May end up going green because I kind of want the promo hydra for EDH. I will be very sad if I don't have much in my white pool to play.
Getting a god from the seeded pack is actually quite high from what I've seen at least. Both Theros and Born, I ripped a Heliod and a Mogis. Half my friends also got gods from their seeded pack at Born.
That's odd.
There must have been an error in the packaging sent to my store. I was seated next to two black players and one opened Mogis, the other Phenax.
(for the intention of winning a sealed tourney) there's no reason not to pick white
(for the intention of having a half-decent promo card that doesn't belong in the trash can after limited is over) Probably green or blue.
White ~ Athreos
Blue ~ Keranos
Black ~ Pharika
Red ~ Iroas
Green ~ Pharika
Strong, but it's always possible he pulled Iroas from one of the 2 non-seeded JOU packs too.

In BNG, you could only get 1 of the gods. Each multicolored god was assigned to a single color for the seeded packs.
At the Theros prerelease, I remember pulling a Erebos, but had picked White.
Then at the BNG prerelease, I had picked Green and had pulled a Phenax.
Both were in boosters, proving that your pool doesn't end up always supporting your chosen color.
Red for some Aggro and so I can finish playing my favorite color combination.
It's been long enough that I'm not absolutely certain, but I'm fairly confident they were the seeded packs. I got back to my table late due to a communications error, and feel like I saw them open those before I ripped into my own packs. Unfortunately, I have no direct evidence. I didn't open a god in any of mine, and I purchased all five colors.
I'll admit that it's entirely possibly that I'm wrong, and a complete raving loon. Wouldn't be the first time I've made a mistake. Either way, I apologize for being snitty in my previous comments.

I will always firmly stand by the belief that Magic is a game first and a collectable second.
I think this confirms the other theory:
White ~ Athreos
Blue ~ Keranos
Black ~ Pharika
Red ~ Iroas
Green ~ Pharika
