If you can pick out one item from your collection (card or non-card) that has the most nostalgic feel, what would it be?
Mine would probably be the 8th edition Core Game. It's the box with a CD and a rulebook. I flirted with Magic during the Mercadian Masques era but I got back and went serious during the 8th edition. The box came with the first MTGO CD as well.
Probably my extremely beat up Serra Avatar from Urza's Saga. I played the hell out of that card, and when I look at it, I'm reminded of those awesome times (playing 4 headed giant at summer camp and slamming it down was good times). It's not worth much, so there's no reason to ever trade it.
My Alpha Chaos Orb. It's the only card I have left from my original collection which I sold years ago. It reminds of all of the games played across the coffee table at my parent's house growing up. I have no idea how many games we played or how many cans of Mello Yello we drank, but those were great times.
When I went to an event for the 10th anniversary of Mtg they had been given these awesome black tablecloths with a 10th anniversary logo on them. I asked the owner afterwords what he was going to do with them and managed to convince him to sell me one for $20.
My memento was an Beta Berserk that I had up until a month or 2 ago. I sold it here simply because I wasn't using it for so long. It was the last card that I had from when I started in 1994.
Now I'm trying to start "new" mementos with a FOIL Snapcaster Mage playset, a FOIL Deathrite Shaman playset, and a FOIL Geist of Saint Traft playset.
Legacy - Sneak Show, BR Reanimator, Miracles, UW Stoneblade
Premodern - Trix, RecSur, Enchantress, Reanimator, Elves https://www.facebook.com/groups/PremodernUSA/ Modern - Neobrand, Hogaak Vine, Elves
Standard - Mono Red (6-2 and 5-3 in 2 McQ)
Draft - (I wish I had more time for limited...)
Commander - Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build) (dead format for me)
An Invasion Rith, the Awakener signed by Brian Kibler. I loved his deck when I was a kid. I also have a battered Invasion Darigaaz, the Igniter from my entry into the game. In fact, I'd say my equally roughed-up Blastoderm, Eron the Relentless, and Abyssal Specter (Finkel vs Garfield edition) are mementos from the first deck I tried to build.
My blue Judgment spindown die from the fatpack I bought on the day I really started playing Magic.
Other than that, my foil 8th Edition Wrath of God that my Grandma bought me for my birthday like 9 years ago or whatever. (She passed away a couple years ago, so the sentimental value has gone up even more)

The All Hallows' Eve my wife bought me without me knowing. I didn't even know she knew it was my favorite art.. It's not in gem mint shape (she had no idea about M/MN/E) but I'd say it's NM-. Even though I have 3 gem mint ones, I'll never trade or sell that one.
Actually, it's a deck that I found ages ago on The Dojo. It was my first real foray into infinite combo. The deck ran
4 Early Harvest
4 Summer Bloom
2 Turnabout
4 Prosperity
2 Stroke of Genius
4 Mana Flare
Impuse
Brainstorm
4 Gaea's Blessing
some other stuff I can't remember
and 1 Kaervek's Torch
This is how your game would go
Me: (To my opponent) Give me a number greater than 20 and less than a million.
Opponent: Excuse me?
Me: Give me a number greater than 20, less than a million
Opponent: Uh....fourteen thousand, seven hundred and eighty six
Me: Okay, lets go
3-5 turns later, and 15 minutes into the turn
Me: Okay, so I have fourteen thousand, seven hundred and eighty seven mana in my mana pool, cast Kaervek's Torch for letha
Opponent: WTF?!
I quit the game and then came back in 2010. When I came back, one of my buddies presented me with a sleeved deck. I looked at it, and he had given me the exact 60 that I had used way back when.
I don't use the deck anymore (except as a little thought exercise every once and a while), but it brings back so many memories that I can't part with it

Mine definitely has to be a more recent card, considering i just started about a year ago. A foil Spectral Rider. I don't know why i liked the card so much, but it's what got me into the game (playing mono-white spirits) and it was really interesting and fun for me.
I haven't been playing Magic for a terribly long time, only since Zendikar. As such, I would probably say that it's my foil Lotus Cobra. It wasn't the first mythic foil that I pulled (that was an M10 Time Warp which I traded for more cards, because I was just getting started), but it was the first one I kept. I played it in Standard when it was legal, and now I play it in EDH in my all-foil Omnath deck.
Well I no longer have my original collection, but as soon as I started playing again I bought a set of Breathstealers.
It's a horrible card, and I've never even played with it, but in the 90's my cousin Omar and I were obsessed with Breathstealer, we though that guy was just so cool looking. We spent a summer on the beach building MtG monsters like Leviathan out of sculpey and making endless drip castles on the beach for Breathstealer to live in.
Tempest Owl would be mine. I started around Zendikar, I already knew how to play by then but I didnt really own cards. Anyway, I got a booster pack so I could start being serious about Magic, and it's the first card I remember seeing.

A collector of Magic Cards. (As in, I collect Magic cards for fun, I don't care how much any of my cards are worth)
I don't really have anything. I have a lot of fond memories but no real one thing to tie them all too. My personal favorite thing I got is my Beta Timetwister (my first and favorite power nine I own). It was setting in the case at the LGS I used to play at when I first started and I always joked to the owner that I would buy it. He used to say he would hang up the towel the day I did. One day I come in and plopped a large sum of money on the table and pointed at it. He gave me a hefty discount off it for being serious about it and a loyal customer. He actually did retire and close the store shortly after. He was pretty old though so I don't blame him. That store holds a lot of memories for me.
Nothing amazing, but my Silver queen and Mox Diamond, those were the first 2 booster packs I ever bought when I played MTG for 1 year already. I had to save up to buy those boosters, they are still in my folder now.
Foil Bitterblossom which I opened in the first ever booster. The regular rare was Weirding Shaman, and I don't know what happened to it, but BB is here reminding of glorious days of "OMG who needs the card which kills you while producing just 1/1s in process?"
Edit: the second is Vampire "first strike, buddy" Hexmage as eternal reminder to read the board.
Probably a leather pouch etched with the MTG logo that I use to carry dice and beads. Yeah I still have glass beads from way back from the Revised days.
Probably a Skyhunter Patrol that I burned the edges off and then stuck under my sock as I played a football (soccer) match back in '03, as a protest against the new card frame
The Darksteel prerelease promo, Shield of Kaldra. I have exactly one copy of this card, and it serves many purposes (in terms of memory).
- It was my first ever prerelease.
- I attended that tournament on my fourteenth birthday.
- In spite of being terrible at Limited (60-card deck, main deck Lich's Tomb), a couple of my opponents were so gracious as to help me identify what to cut and why some cards were perfectly playable (I recall one of my opponents telling me that Grimclaw Bats was acceptable, and could eventually just be even trades on life).
- I still got a consolation pack despite having to leave early.
Fortunately enough, Donato Giancola, the artist for the Kaldra prerelease promos, was at the Fifth Dawn prerelease, and I got it signed for good measure. While it does lurk in my old binder full of junk and promos, I sure as hell don't intend to part with it.
My number one is my playset of Fireblast. A friend of mine knew that I was trying to put together Legacy Burn, so he said that he would try to trade for the last few cards I needed if he saw them during trading at a GP. When I saw him the day after he got back, he handed me a playset of Korean Fireblasts, and didn't ask for anything in return. If I ever got rid of all of my cards, I would still hold onto these.
I also love my SCG Open Top 8 pin. I'm really proud of my achievement, and I'm happy to have the pin to commemorate it.
the creature i remember the most from back in 7th when i started is Jareth, Leonine Titan. I still remember wining with him and Serra's Embrace. Flying giant cat with protection FTW. Also i loved those flavortexts back then.
