I'm trying to come up with ideas for a Vampire vs Werewolves duel deck scenario. The idea of a tribal war always seemed fun and interesting. These are meant only for casual play and aren't meant to be tournament worthy. As I’m a new magic player any tips/suggestions on balancing or improvements would be appreciated.
I think your Vampire deck is very good, but, I don't think the Werewolf deck is quite up to the same standard. It needs a bit of work - I have no idea what (I haven't really followed the Werewolf or Vampire creatures since they have no utility in my decks) But, it just seems to be lacking in something.
And this will probably be moved by a mod to some sort of development thread.
This is just for constructed casual. I already have the vampire deck completed and I'm just trying to create a werewolf deck to maybe introduce and play against with friends. Just not very familiar with how werewolf decks are supposed to be setup.

To be honest, werewolf decks are not really a popular archetype.
Your mana curve is a bit shaky in both, and I honestly don't like the werewolf decks' chances overall. Not a whole lot of symmetry there. i'm not saying its bad, I'm just saying there is something missing, and I can't think of a card to bring it all together.
I wont comment on specifics of each deck, but I think this idea would sell TONS of magic cards! Its rare to find such a great idea on any forum. I mean duel decks are mostly for casuals and I think this sort of thing would really interest a lot of people. The alternate arts could really interest collectors too. +1

Huntmaster is terrible in a tribal werewolf deck and interacts horribly with Immerwolf. You want your wolves to flip and stay flipped, which is where Immerwolf comes into play. Huntmaster you want flipping back and forth to get value out of, which means your other wolves will be doing the same and ending up much worse off because of it.
At the absolute best case scenario a tribal werewolf deck would win as such:
Turn 1: Waif
Turn 2: Mayor
Turn 3: Outlaw
Turn 4: Gang
Turn 5: Moonmist, alpha strike
And if the alpha strike fails, you drop Immerwolf to keep your dudes relevant. That was how I played my standard tribal deck while I still had it. Obviously that's godhand/best case scenario, but still.
Writing this 7 years after the initial post. Still an awesome idea. Would love to see more of this. Creating a casual-ish brew fourm or topic around this idea that we actually keep updated somewhere would be great. Been loving werewolves/wolves since forever. Vampires too.

And... a red deck with virtually no burn?
Not exactly werewolves, but they're wolves, kinda.
With the werewolves include a lot of instant speed removal. The werewolf deck should play one or two threats and play draw go for most of the game.
Unless you do this perfectly, the vampire deck is just going to be better. Vampire Nighthawk alone will make racing near impossible.
Lastly, there a is a reason duel decks have so many one and two of's. Try and emulate it. The lack of consistency makes it easier to balance.
Hoping for a cure, or at least an outbreak.
