Fell in love the second I saw him spoiled. Bought him when he was at $1. Played him since then in three different decks (WR Tokens, Mono Red and Gruul).
One of my favorite cards ever, no doubt about it.
PD: I'd miss Lingering Souls too, but I'll keep playing it in Modern.
This is a fun card, wish the toughness was 4, everytime I drop it on the battlefield it seems to get Searing Speared
"Our strategy was simple, we made Avacyn Restored awesome. Here’s the name of the set for the fall(Return to Ravnica.) Oh look, draw trigger Time Walk."

"A scrupulous writer, in every sentence that he writes, will ask himself at least four questions, thus: 1. What am I trying to say? 2. What words will express it? 3. What image or idiom will make it clearer? 4. Is this image fresh enough to have an effect? And he will probably ask himself two more: 1. Could I put it more shortly? 2. Have I said anything that is avoidably ugly?"
In terms of playables it's probably Strangleroot Geist and Rancor for me, though Inn. Block had tons of great, powerful cards that saw little or no play in a very pushed Standard. Oh well, I guess there's Modern brewing to be done.
I think it's funny that so many people are sad to see GoST rotate.
I am completely thrilled to see that card go away. It is a stupidly OP creature that requires no intelligence whatsoever to play. I have always been a blue mage, but I absolutely despise GoST. Bant Hexproof being a deck made me feel this even more so.
I will miss Olivia. IMO, she is one of the best(not most powerful necessarily, just..best) Magic cards ever printed. She perfectly embodies what it means to be a Legend AND a Mythic Rare. She is powerful, but not ridiculously so. Etc. WOTC got things completely right when they created her.

I agree that Geist is a dumb card, designed with dumb intentions. But I can see why people would miss it - it wins games. And for many, winning is the best reason to play the game.
Also agreed about Olivia. I never played Jund, but Olivia and Huntmaster were great examples of intelligently designed cards.

Modern
Dredge, Evo-Chord, U/G Faeries, Living End, Something New
M10/INN lands, Pillar of Flame and Thundermaw Hellkite are the big ones for me. I would say Snapcaster Mage but I honestly wonder if we didn't see a Lightning Helix reprint specifically because Snapcaster was around. What other cards might they have backed away from because that guy is around?
Standard: RWUJeskai Modern: RWGBurn, GRWUBSlivers Legacy: RBurn EDH: RWGUBSliver Overlord, UWGeist of Saint Traft (Tiny Leaders) Current decklists are posted here
I kind of want Snapcaster to stay he adds a really interesting dynamic to the game. I know thats the point. That mechanics rotate but thats just one I'd like to stay.
I echo the Flinthoof Boar sentiments. BTE into Piggy felt so good. Strangely reminded me of the good ol' days of playing Fires.
+1 on the Flinthoof Boar, that was a great card to put with BTE, plus it had the ability for Haste. I hope they will make another good 2 drop to go with BTE in the upcoming sets that wont cost as much as a play set of Scavenging Ooze
I'm looking forward to seeing many of the decks in play now lose alot of their key cards as named by everyone here, how they adapt if not perish, and how new decks spring out for a new meta

Pretty much every deck is going to die (Jund Midrange and Reanimator and Aristocrats) or become severly crippled come roll out.

I know that feel bro... Sometimes you need to wait for the right moment to play him.
Because we care about facts.
Also, w/ Voice being everywhere, losing Pillar of Flame is going to be a bummer.
Also Dissipate...my fav counterspell right now.
