I am looking for the longest instant win card combo in magic. Not the longest in terms of execution time, but a combo requiring the largest and most inefficient amount of cards. Thanks
That's a pretty open question and I don't think there's a real answer to it.
What defines a "combo"? How about 61 lands and fog effects so you deck your oppenent before you lose. Is that a 61 card combo? I wouldn't say so.
A better question might be, whats the most complex combo that doesn't suck? Aka, one that's had tournament success.
Doomsday, dredge, ANT/TES or hightide probably take the cake if that's the question. Are those even specific "combos"? They are combo decks, but you can use different piles of cards to combo together a win. Like I can say Helm of Obedience and Rest in peace is "the combo" of UW Miracles. But I cant really say 2 dark ritual, 1 tendrils of agony, 2 lotus petals, 2 rite of flames, a ponder, a brainstorm, a silence and a duress is the "combo of TES". Its different every time and not a set combo of cards.
There was a thread a while back that linked to another, even older thread that linked to a web page with a deck that needed every single card in the deck to "combo off." I'll try to find it...

The Turing thing doesn't actually produce any sort of win (does it?), but there's also this.
If you wanted something that looks more like a real deck, a full-deck combo in the style of Belcher or Eggs would probably be the most complex. The Storm variant that used Pyromancer Ascension was pretty fiddly, from what I understood.
Let me clarify. A group of friends and I are forming a local playtest group and I trying to come up with a clever name. Team Channel Fireball would be an example of a very efficient combo with the cards channel and fireball. As a parody on this I wanted to come up with Team "insert obscenely long and inefficient combo here". I would consider ANT a combo deck but I am looking for something tier 4 here.
I know goblinrecruiter used to have a 57-card combo that pinged the opponent 1 damage at a time with Icequake, but it's long lost to history (and may not even work anymore due to errata or rules changes). At one point it involved a Relic Bind attached to a donated Time Vault which both simultaneously swapped sides, thereby keeping the enchant restriction happy.

I'll have a look for you, but I do remember in Zendikar/Scars Standard there was a combo to cast Emrakul on the first turn, in a mono-blue deck (It used Green Chancellors but never actually cast them) It did however involve Time Reversal Shuffling to an exact state for all four castings

How about The Four Horsemen - a combo so obtuse it is not legally playable in Legacy... Even though all the cards are Legacy legal and the combo does work if you were allowed to repeat events of random chance infinitely...
Get Platinum Emperion into play and cast Shahrazad as many times as you possibly can, finishing them off with a flashbacked Lava Dart when half their life rounded up takes them to 1. That's pretty darn inefficient.
just activate Spawnsire ability paying your easily obtained 20 mana....
then put 200 Emrakuls into play for them to die to the legend rule and be shuffled in your library.... which will have more than 200 cards so you can win with Battle of Wits....
pretty simple, huh?

I draft and play EDH. If a Standard player can't understand who a card is for, it's probably for me.
I also write things about good films.
You can use it to start another game of modo and then combo out there.
<_<
>_>
Cast Ob Nixilis (There are probably other win cons)
Cast Sacred Ground
Cast City in a Bottle
Cast Donate on City in a Bottle
Drop a City of Brass
Team Donate Illusions doesnt sound half bad.

Spawnsire of Ulamog + Battle of Wits + 200 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn is a pretty stupid 202 card combo that can instant win.

I don't always post about Rafiq of the Many, but when I do, I cardlink to the original artwork, and not the supplementary product version.
"I trust myself to do my duty, even unto death. It's what comes after that I'm afraid of."
"Just fight without fear. Your soul is protected by the hand of Avacyn and will never submit to evil."
No, I think it's this.
