That's a great looking set there. Too bad that the Islands are in (simplified) Chinese. Getting the whole set signed will be a really herculean task and if you want to get it all in one language, even harder. I used to have a contact in Japan, who could get some cards signed, but that was well before the Portal sets became legal to play in older formats, so it was mostly Islands, that were signed and shipped to Europen vintage players for pimp basics. Unfortunately the contact stopped playing actively and is now in his forties with family, so no help there.
I will keep my eyes open, if I see some signed cards floating through. My sets are completely unsigned, so no help there.
That's one of the few questions one should not ask from a serious collector.
You might ask: "Are you insane?" or: "Do you ever eat anything besides noodles after spending all your money on cardboard?" or even comment snidely: "How does your significant other react to all those cards?" (Poorly, if they know the value...) But do not ask collectors to disclose their location publicly.
I know few too many collectors who cannot keep their collections at home anymore, but have storage boxes in banks. Makes tuning a Vintage deck the night before a tournament a real hassle... TO make the point obvious: Some people will get tempted if they know that a burglary will give them 50+k$ in relatively easy to sell goods. Luckily for Markers, his signed cards are much less likely to be targeted, as they are much easier to recognize, but still better to be careful.
Friend of mine just sent me picture of something he got done for me:
The last card to complete the completely signed Alpha set!!!!
If everything works out I should have the card by the end of next week!
What a fitting card to need as the last card.
Makes me feel like you had to pull quite the strings. lol

Mountain was the last missing card for my AN set years ago and now Traditional Chinese Mountains from P3K are the last missing cards for my P3K language sets... But at least Mountains are fun to play with.
New rule for this thread: Don't ask people where they live. Locations being publicly available for non-Market Street members presents a security risk that these members should not be forced to accept. Asking someone in this thread where they live or PMing someone from this thread to ask for their location (outside of a confirmed trade in MS) will now result in a suspension.
A while ago, my LGS managed to get 3 Force of Wills. One of them was in fantastic shape, but the other two were, shall we say, previously loved.
I got a good deal on them (something like $120 for the three of them), so I took them and decided to get them altered. I shipped them off to Sanderline with the concept being something similar to a Therese Neilson alter. She sent back what could only be described as two works of art.
Back in October I decided to sell my collection. My altered Forces were hard to part with, and I almost kept them, but at the end of the day I parted with them as to not break up the playset of Forces (I traded for the fourth shortly after the alters came back). I traded my collection into my LGS, so when one of the locals picked them up my heart sank. He was a younger player and I knew he didn't appreciate them. He was interested in the monetary value of the cards, not the play value or sentimental value of them. And when I heard he had listed them on eBay, let's just say that I was horrified.
Flash forward to this evening. I'm at my LGS, looking in the showcase to see if I could find anything to use my store credit on. I did a double take...my Forces were in the showcase. I quickly took out my trade binder and unloaded a bunch of Standard cards. The owner is a great guy and basically gave me dollar for dollar in value; he knew the cards had more than monetary value to me, so he did me a good one.
My Forces are now back with me and I'm a happy camper. I don't think I'll ever let them go again

I tell you, I did a serious double take. I had to check for the artist mark first, then I checked it against the photos I still had on my phone. I really couldn't believe that my LGS still had em. Needless to say I had no problems parting with Kioras, Stormbreaths, and Brimazes (and some other stuff too) to get them back

Would it be in poor form to have your Tropical Island signed by Mark Poole as well? I think it'd be neat to have the (incorrectly) credited artist sign them too.

Well, I might do that...but considering the prices those cards take I think they won't leave the binder any time soon

I can see that.
I think it would be so cool to have Mr. Poole sign it and draw a BOP on it to fit the back story.

i want to see a proper whole white borded deck, all cards has to be NM and spotless! I think it'll look amazing. There was a dude that whitebordered his Legacy ANT deck.
Alpha Meekstone to improve my VG-Version and the 3rd Beta (those signed Hoover cards are VERY hard to find). The Tolarians were signed/altered at Stephen Daniele's Appearance in Italy two weeks ago...

Amazing Meekstones! I want one of them pretty badly haha.
anywho, don't know if i should post these, but why not.
It's quite modest when compared to all the other top tier pimpness in this thread, but I've always had a thing for angels. It's by far the most I've ever spent on vanity cards and they're all mine:

That's a question we're not going to ask.
