Is it known which taplands will get reprinted? I'm looking to get some Dragonskull Summits and at their current price it would be worth it even
if they didn't get reprinted, but I would like to know which are expected to get reprinted.
There's a good chance none of them will be reprinted too.
But, on the assumption they will reprint they're pretty much stuck reprinting all 10 because they need mana fixing to be fair to both allies and enemies while Ravnica is in standard. If for some reason they were going to be unfair to enemy colors though, the allied pair is the one that's far more likely to see a reprint as it has been a core set staple for years.
Mark Rosewater mentioned on his blog that they were hesitant about reprinting these lands in M13 because they had already been printed a couple of times. But when they knew shocklands would be in RTR block, they decided to print them another time because they worked so well together.
For this reason, I suspect these lands won't be in M14. It will be interesting to see if they choose a different set of lands to replace them.
I would guess they won't get printed in M14, just to shake things up and have something different. I'm sure they will be back in a core set sometime down the road though.
inb4 they put fetches in m14. You know so standard can just have the most bonkers mana in standard history.
That would be awesome. But, WotC says new players dont want to have to pay life for land -- so that's not likely. :[

Mhjames: mtgsalvation: I DON'T SEE HOW THIS CARD IS GOOD. I KNOW PATRICK CHAPIN USED IT AND WENT 8-0, BUT THAT WAS A SMALL TOURNAMENT. THE CARD IS TOO SLOW. YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THE OPPONENT HAS A SPELL IN THE GRAVEYARD
Idk because I'm REALLY drunk, I've had four effing cups of 40+% of alcohol without eating and I just don't know how much alcohol there is in my blood.
But I'd bet they would keep the allied checklands in M14. They want this kind of mana fixing and they want shards to be more easily played than wedges as much as they want allied pairs to work out as evenly as enemy pairs. That's the purpose of the checklands at all.
I kind of agree. As much as I like all this land diversity and subsequent three color power house deck building going on I would like a big reset to a simpler standard or at least one that isn't so razor sharp with its aggro.
a cycle of grove lands would be cool. I would not be displeased with a cycle of Nimbus Maze lands either.
what about river of tears like lands?
though if they put in grovelands (is this what we will call them now?) in m14, I might actually buy a box instead of just buying the singles i need (for that rush)
also, wouldnt grovelands devalue shocks? and during m13/14, would they also make all the checks crash?

They've been printed 4 times already. They might want to not reprint them (or add the Innistrad ones alongside them) just to change things up a bit.
I hope not. I just dropped cash to get these, lol. (unless we are talking allied fetchs. then hell yes)
I'm pretty sure they will not reprint taplands (checklands? same thing right?)
I hope they put in something completely new, actually.

That's a horrible thing to say
