Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
Anyhow, the best I can come up with myself is a game in the top 8 of a PTQ back during Urza block in which we were starting game 3 with time already expired, so the tiebreaker rule was that whoever had more life after 3 turns would win. And I lost to... healing salve.
Heads up: I'm naive in the ways of cockatrice. It's use as a play testing tool seems pretty benign, but weren't people also using it just to play? I've seen posts about cockatrice tournaments (with prizes?). If this is the case, doesn't it make since for Hasbro to try to stop a site that subverts its profits and plays the game for free?
I realize that this is probably an oversimplification, and if its been discussed already in another thread, I will follow that link.

yeah obviously this is well within hasbro's rights and interests. don't bother reading threads full of cockatrice users because all they keep claiming is how much money hasbro will lose because of this.. because apparently 99% of cockatrice users only used it for testing and then they went out and bought thousands of dollars of cards.

When people test decks online, they may spend money on cards afterwards, but they don't spend money on the cards they try and don't find to their liking.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
I probably wouldn't have attended any of the dozens of limited events I've attended if I couldn't practice on mws to stay somewhat competitive with the wealthier players.
It isn't the same as playing against another player, but if you want to test a deck out against another deck, simply go to either http://mtgdeckbuilder.net/ or http://tappedout.net/, put the two decks together you want to test, open up 2 windows and play the decks out by yourself. I do this all the time and it's very effective.
There are ways around Cockatrice and having to actually play matches against other people to test out your deck.

I also do basic playtesting with tappedout and love it. I wish WotC would hire whoever programmed TO's interface for MTGO. TO's interface even works perfectly on iPad Safari. It's nuts.

You can do this in Cockatrice, too. Cockatrice > Start Local Game. Load two decks and go to town against yourself.

This is why I started playing magic in the first place. It wasn't PT aspirations just making noobs cry by doing things that are perfectly fair.
Hasbro is suing Cockatrice. Goodbye Cockatrice...

Don't know how much good it'll do, but I signed it.
This is yesterday's news.

I did, but I'm sure that I'm in the minority.

10/10, I tapped.
Also, while Cockatrice's downfall is sad, play.woogerworks.com works just as well.
