Pulled a Stomping Ground and didn't notice anything at first, I thought the black flecks were birds but then I realized the black paint from the border of the card somehow ended up on the card. Not sure what to do with it, if anything. Any ideas?
I bought an M12 intro pack a when M12 just came out, and I had a couple of cards in that deck have some black smudges on it. I just ignored it. If you can read the text, it is no biggie.
It depends on the kind of misprint if it would be worth more or less, in this case it seems like it would be less because it looks kind of like a messed up card. Also it's the new stomping ground art which is atrocious in my opinion.

With miscuts and misprints there's two main determining factors regarding their value: rarity and severity. Generally speaking, the more common a given type of error is for a set, the more likely it is that people will simply value the card as damaged, and the more severe an error is the more likely it is that someone will pay a premium for the oddity. Time Spiral, for example, had a fairly common error that caused cards to look almost like a weak bleach had been spilled on them, so those cards are interesting for their severity but not particularly worth anything because they're extremely common for the set.
This style of printing error is not particularly uncommon for any set, however, and it's also not particularly severe. It is interesting how the error looks kind of like birds, though. You may be able to add a couple bucks to its value by getting a subtle alter done to it that uses that effect to add a bit more unique character to the card. Maybe add a wurm to the background wrapped around that hill so it looks like the "birds" are closer to the POV than the wurm. The trick would be getting the alter done at reasonable quality on the cheap.
Same reason people pay more for foils/foreigns.

Good thing I have book burning.

but if you can get it altered it maybe pretty cool.

Yeah the picture does kind of look like dirt but up close its very obviously black paint. Wanna pay normal for it?
Interesting misprint though.
haha not right now... if you still have it after the shocks drop a bit then sure.
