All of my friends heard about this in great detail.
Last match, playing against an Azorius mill deck. This is the third round, and I finally sided in Psychic Spiral to prevent being milled. It's gotten to the late game, where I have a few cards left in deck, he has a good defender out, and I have a few creatures that are constantly being detained. For lack of anything better to do, I cast Supreme Verdict to wipe the board. He tries to counter it, but it is uncounterable.
Next turn I draw Psychic Spiral, which would mean that my graveyard would be shuffled back in, and his deck would be milled. Except he countered it, with the counterspell that should've been eaten by Supreme Verdict.
Sure I lost, but this match was a blast to play, and the backfiring of uncounterability is hilarious.
In the second round with this guy, he gets Vraska's ultimate off, and can never hit me with the assassins - I had three copies of Downsize, and kept negating their attack every turn. He still killed me with mill though, but I'm proud to have no died to her ultimate.

But the counterspell should have been eaten by Supreme Verdict? The counterspell still resolves and goes to the graveyard - it just doesn't do anything.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
There was a point where both me and my opponent had a Lotleth Troll with 5 +1/+1 counters on it as well as a Stab Wound. Besides lands we had an identical board state.
I'm at 4 life, while my opponents at 8.
My opponent has two large sphinx on the board (Don't remember which.)
One has a stab wound on it.
I have Jarrad and a 4/4 trample guy on the board both detained. 8 lands on my side.
I cast stab wound on his second sphinx.
I say go, he untaps and I activate Jarrad to sac the 4/4 trample before combat for the win.
This was my first ever MTG event!...
i was playing GW, and i splashed Black... for the resons following..
was game 2... turn 8 i think i was on 12, he was on 10 life.... i had Grove of the Guardian turned in to an 8/8v, i have just popped Vraska the Unseen" target="blank">Vraska the Unseen ultamate!! and with a Eyes in the Skies and 2 X Druid’s Deliverance 's in hand... i didnt know what to poppulate!! (i mean, really... what do you choose?!?!) he had a few chump blockers and time was called... 5 turns to go. he was on the defensive so he couldnt attack. turn 1,.. i attacked all in... he smiled and blocked 'killing' most of everythign i had with deathtouch's and 2/2's... i droped a Druid’s Deliverance.... and chose the 8/8v. turn 2... he played another 2/2 and passed turn 3 ...i played Eyes in the Skies.. and made a another 8/8v... attacked again, he bloacked evthing, 'killing' the assasin tokens and my 8/8's with deathertouch's....and smiled.. till i played another Druid’s Deliverance.... smile gone, i chose a 1/1 assasin token this time... turn 4... not scooping, played a land and passed.. turn 5... my last chance.. but with 3x 8/8v, 4 assasin tokens, and few other 1/1 fliers and 3/3 tokens... what chance... although he could block all the assasins and 8/8's.. other others wiped him out....
My first ever MTG event..and this was my fav game of the day!!
My Best moment was the game I won with Azor's Elocutors. He was playing Rakdos with awesome beats and I was playing a jank Selesnya pool. I was down most of the game and thanks to lifelinkers on his side he was at 23 to my 4 life. Then I dropped Elocutors and was able to sit back and chump/trade with his dudes just long enough to get the filabuster win.
It was so epic, but felt like such a stolen win (which it was). That card completely captures the flavor of politics perfectly.

The whole weekend was a blast, despite pulling two Search the City in my Rakdos guild pack :/
Playing against an Izzet mage in Game 3, he overloads Teleportal, boosting his army and making them unblockable... and swings in for the kill with a bunch of dudes, including Frostburn Weird .
I ask, "Any Pumps?". He taps out to make his weird a 4/1.
I then play a Golgari Charm, shrinking his army, killing his weird, and surviving with just 2 life. He dies from my hasty Rakdos steed the next turn (Forget the name)..
Not to be mean about it, but my opponent was pretty crushed and just shocked at how it turned out. (Kinda like Patrick Sullivan's opponent after that epic surprise win.) "I can't believe that happened!"
Golgari Charm was the only way for me to survive, and it did just enough. phew!

I chimed in earlier in the thread, but I also enjoyed when I was playing another Izzet player, he overloaded Teleportal for an alpha strike, and then I overloaded Blustersquall afterwards, then proceeded to kill him next turn.
Any time I played Rift... Esp the one time I knew it was my only real answer against an army of 3/3 Centaurs that kept appering thanks to that enchantment that populates each turn.
I had a Jace at one point and did his FoF ability twice, so I knew exactly the last 4 cards in my deck (I took the single card choice both times). I also had an Isperia, so I had been drawing a ton of cards without finding that single Rift. Eventually I was down to 6 cards in my deck, he swings for an alpha strike... I choose to draw only 2 cards off of Isperia, knowing one was my Rift... I pull it, cast it, and swing for the win next turn.
In every game, Lobber Crew was blocking creatures and pinging my opponent.
I had a match against a Selesnya player who was apparently playing populate incorrectly (he was copying each token type everytime he populates instead of only one of the tokens). My 2 Lobber Crews defend against his creatures but his flying creatures dropped me to 1. I'll be dead next turn. Lobber Crew pinging finally dropped him to 5 at the end of his turn. Luckily, I have an Annihilating Fire in my hand, pinging him twice with the Crews and finishing him off with the Fire. Won the game and the match.
Another good game was against an Azorious player who has 4 Doorkeepers. I was pinging him with 3 Lobber Crews while he was pinging me with 3 Doorkeepers. I lost my entire library to those but at that exact moment, I played Psychic Spiral, shuffling my library and milling him for the win.
I had Korozda Guildmage and used it to give my Volatile Rig intimidate and swing for an unblockable 5 damage. Got my opponent down to 4 and he plays a keyrune so he can block, rig blows up and kills him anyway.
Sadly my best moment was when I got a bye for the last round and got one pack for it.
My guild pack (Izzet) had all junk rares, but my friend got the Golgari pack and got a Vraska, Angel of Serenity, and a foil Hallowed Fountain! We found out that of the three people playing Golgari at our event, all three of them pulled Vraska!

Hmmm, that is weird the only guy I know who played Golgari at my per-release also played Golgari the night before, both times he got a Vraska.
2x Lobber Crew in play, and a Rakdos Guildmage and plenty of cards to untap the crews.
And he had nothing to deal with them and couldn't get past the 0/4s
My opponent was sitting at 4 life, and I knew he had the Azorius Archon in his hand (I bounced it with a charm). I'm sitting there with Essence Backlash in my hand waiting for him to play the damn thing out again...he finally did three turns later. I respond with the Backlash. He uses his last mana for a Dispel.
I thought I was hard screwed until I glanced down at my Judge's Familiar.
I'm playing URw splashing a Grove of the Guardian with a Transguild Promenade as my only green source. I'm against a GW player, who of course has Transguild as well.
I draw both my relevant lands, and end of turn make an 8/8. I attack into my opponent, who takes 8. On his turn he drops his land and a creature, enabling his Grove of the Guardian, then activates it at Sorcery speed (for whatever reason) tapping both of his other creatures.
On my turn I untap and use the Traitorous Instinct I'd been holding for some number of turns on his 8/8, and swing back for 22.
Playing a bombless Azrious deck with Archon being my only bomb. Have some great defensive cards, but when my opp takes out my double Palisade Giant and Archon with Supreme Verdict, it darkens. I proceed to topdeck a doorkeeper that suits my Martial Law left behind after the verdict. My opponent gets some stuff out, but with the martial law, 2 counterspells healing for 5 each and my doorkeeper I swing between 1 to 7 life, hit 1 life twice. In the end I win by milling her out with the singleton doorkeeper
Mine was opening my second Jace in the same Izzet guild box
The second best was having a Jace out on the board with 2 counters on him and doing his -2 ability to mini fact or fiction, then tapping 4 mana and playing the second Jace and doing it again. The look on my opponent's face was priceless.

I also got to Auger Spree a Desecration Demon after burning away my opponent's only creature earlier in the turn. That was after using Mind Rot on him two turns in a row. He killed the Demon with an Avenging Arrow, but it still connected for 10.
The world is on fire
and you are here to stay and burn with me.
And he had nothing to deal with them and couldn't get past the 0/4s
This was a painful lost for my opponent.
