Hey ya'll, I've been out of the magic the gathering loop for a bit but I was wondering if you guys could point out a good location in Central Jersey to play magic at?
I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this sort of question, so If not show me the right one (it wasn't apparent from the initial subsections choices).
Ever since WOTC changed the pre-release scene from larger non-brick and mortar stores to brick and mortar stores, I have yet to find a place to play that doesn't feel like a fire hazard.
Anyway, any help you can provide would be great. I am looking for a larger store, not a hole in the wall. Are my ideas delusional in the current state of magic? I just hate being shoe horned into a small back room and not being able to enjoy Magic anymore.

RnD during Time Spiral:
Rosewater: "Color Pie, WTF is that, If I want Black to be able to wrath, counter and have green creatures then I will damnit!"
Random RnD guy: "RED AKORMA! FTW!"
Gleemax: "Rosewater has broken out of my mind control!"
RnD after 2008:
MaRo: Hmm how do we fix the problems of pricing with cards like Tarmogoyf and Thoughtsieze
Random RnD Guy: OO lets make a new RED RARITY SYMBOL!
MARO: OMGWTFBBQ! Thats a great idea, we'll call it Mythic Rarity!
Gleemax: NOT AGAIN! CELEB
If you're in Central NJ, you're probably about 20 minutes from Amazing Heroes in Union, NJ? If you go to Livingston, that's another 25 minutes minimum depending on traffic.
Amazing Heroes is a great place and the owner is a personal friend. Stop by on a Friday night. We play standard constructed Friday Night Magic. Starts at 7 PM and we're usually done by 10:30 - 11
EDIT - Missed the part about the small place. You're probably better off going to Time Zone in Fords. They have a larger playing area.
We actually play in the adjacent building which can support about 50 people. Prize support is great and the players are top notch. If you wanted to go there and see what it's like, they're hosting a Grand Prix Trial for GP Philly on Sunday.
Really you should use the search on Wizards' site to find the closest place to you and then do a bit of research.
Or maybe you could at least give a more specific location, there are a lot of shops in New Jersey
My problem is that I've been to all the close stores they say, Including Time Zone Gaming, and they are all cramped as hell and full whenever events happen.
I guess I'll never get an experience like the Old Grey Matter Conventions used to be.

Stomping Ground < ~35min away from where I live, but a nice place non the less
Princeton < Website is way out of date, but Its still running every sunday 2:30ish on the Princeton University Campus. you wont find any big events since its not a shop, but just weekly drafts
Most of these places are big enough that they don't feel like a fire trap. Comic Lair has definitely stepped out of its old "hole in the wall"
a bit further south, there's also Top Deck Games in Haddon Township. I've not been there yet, but I've heard its nice
