Outstanding thread here Polyjak, will have to read it a little more indepth instead of the cursory look I have given it.
I see that a discussion was made earlier in the thread as to what URG should be called. Although I do see the merits behind calling them a Libertarian Alliance however I think that a better definition of them would be Individualist Alliance.
Although G is best know as a more community oriented and, obviously, nature based, I think that works in quite well for Individualism. The fact that, the political philosophy of individualism, can be seen as based about the idea of laissez faire government styling fits perfectly into these three colours. All three of them basically want to be left alone by the guilds so they can go about their own work.
I think that Libertarian works for this set however I think that Individualist works better over all.

It means pretty much the same thing. Laissez-faire is pretty much the DEFINITION of Libertarian.

Everything points to the conclusion that the capitalists are misnamed. Whty would the Izzet particularly care to oppose Capitolism in any way? How does that fir the description given? Wouldn't "Utopians" be a better name? That would indicate a :symg::symw: commitment to the best world, and the darker side of every utopia would be
Now, the Izzet are opposed to such postulation because they have thier feet planted in real possibilities, not in dreams. They work in science and not the hopes of social perfection.
If a Utopia has a dark side, then it's technically a Dystopia
But that's another way to look at it. Though dystopia has very similar connotations to fascism, which we have as an alliance already... but I think the two of them both have good cases to be called fascist. BWR is more of a violent, police state style fascism, whereas BWG would be more of a Brave New World type fascism, where everything is subjugated to service of the collective and brainwashed into accepting, even embracing slavery. That's certainly one way B could twist WG.

June 28, 2006 Q: If you had to describe each of the ten guilds in one word each, what would those words be?

Redding, CT A: From Brady Dommermuth, Magic Creative Director:
Fun question, Travis. Selesnya: Nurturing Golgari: Ambitious Dimir: Manipulative Boros: Proactive Izzet: Visionary Gruul: Passionate Azorius: Prudent Simic: Evolutionary Rakdos: Carnal Orzhov: I moved the Orzhov to the end of the list because they're certainly the hardest to sum up in a single word. They really want two words because they're so divided and dysfunctional. They are privileged and oppressed, resourceful and hopeless, ruthless and apathetic. I guess if I had to choose one word it would be Conflicted.
Could the small Sinister symbols be re-uploaded please? There appears to be something wrong with the small images now.
Also, to anyone who is reading it, would it be possible to please post the small version of the "Sinister" (GUB) one so that it reads G, U, B from left-to-right? In other words, as if you rotated the current orientation 120 degrees counter-clockwise. I hope to use this on some custom cards and since the official order for that color pairing is GUB I would prefer it that way visually. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated! Here is the large version of the current symbol.
STATISTICS.
All of these "Let's eliminate bad cards" crusades are simply ignorant. And when they start to devolve into "WotC is conspiring to give us crappy cards," they just become embarrassing. MATH is conspiring to give you crappy cards.

Thought this might be useful
