Does anybody have a preference for a bag to put the cards in that you're taking to an event? Are there specially made gaming bags or do you prefer a standard messenger bag or backpack?

Personally I have some World of warcraft epic collection boxes. If I'm going to a large event I use my NES messenger bag i got from spencers for $12 and put 2 epic collection boxes witha few magic decks, a wow deck, and a vanguard deck to keep myself occupied.
If I'm just going to FNM I just carry an epic collection box with a couple decks and some dice. Those boxes are rediculously good for this. Hold something like 6ish deckboxes and some space beyond it. If you get a collection itself it has a few packs, legit rubber playmat, some deviders, etc, etc, etc.
At this point I don't even use a deckbox except for the deck i intend to play and my dice. the rest are just in the box with the dividers
I use an old school deck box made by sun cast. If you can find one grab it. You don't see them around anymore. I play mostly casual but I do take it to FNM and prereleases. It holds 12 decks, and has room in the top for dice and misc stuff. But then again I am sucker for the old school stuff.
I carry a messenger bag with me all the time so when I go gaming I just toss in the trade binder/deckbox/sleeves/whatever. I carry my cube in a very nice wooden box.

I write about cube and run cube drafts on magic online.
I just use a regular Jansport backpack. I fit my pencil/pad into the outside compartment. Inside I have my binder, 1 mat, and a tin box (Duelmasters- Garfield vs. Finkel) with dice, a couple of deck boxes holding a variety of things, and a couple of rubik's cubes.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
I use a large insulated beach bag I got from a drug rep (my whole family is in the medical industry). It holds 12 fat packs (currently 7) each with 3-4 decks...my binder...4 playmats...a felt bag full if counters...paper and pens...and maybe a dozen other deck boxes.
It's handy but it weighs maybe 50 lbs

I use a 31 bag (wife sells them, this is a Large Utility Tote) for all of my cards. They are stored in long boxes, Monster binders and fat pack boxes. The bag is amazing. It is incredibly sturdy and holds a ton. For cards at the event, I just use a nice messenger bag.
I usually decide in advance which decks I want to use and throw them in my Timbuk2 messenger bag. It will fit about 4 Fat Pack boxes and some accessories. I mostly like the bag because it is waterproof. It has saved me many times.

I use to use one of those bags for your basketball shoes or sports bags, but they're too small since I also carry extra boxes and decks now.
