I'm INTJ and I'm thinking that this would probably be the most prevalent. I don't know if there are any formal studies for this. It would definitely be interesting, especially to the WoTC design team.

Well I suppose I'm INTJ, and that's what I predicted before the test results, too. I agree with Golden Eagle that this would be one of the most common amongst Magic players.
I always test INTJ on MBTI tests. Offhand I can think of a lot of people who would likely test out as INTJ, INTP, and ENTJ.
It's a fair bet that NT types are going to be significantly over represented in the magic community (10% or so of population versus somewhere like 50%+ of magic players), as it's a brain game.
Although I know an ESFP and ESTP that are tournament regulars.
I tested right on the INTJ/ISTJ border, which doesn't surprise me. Sometimes I follow instinct and sometimes I'm a lot more analytical when making my decisions.
I do find that most Magic players spend a lot of time alone, and enjoy being alone.

A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.
Honestly, I didn't know too much about what that meant, so I read up on it. Yep, fits me pretty well, especially the entrepreneur parts.

Odds of pulling a JtMS from a WWK pack: 1:80
Odds of pulling any specific rare in 5th Edition: 1:133
So, on average, 1 JtMS every 2.222 boxes or 1 Bird of Paradise every 3.694 boxes. Yeah, I'll take my odds with Mythics, they are easier to get than old rares.

Oooooh I was waiting for someone to make a thread about this one day. The psychology aspect of magic is what fascinates me the most. I'd also be interested to see how much of a correlation there is between peoples types and what colors they connect with the most in terms of philosophy.
I'm INTJ, at least I was when I took the test 10+ years ago. I agree that the "NTJ" is probably a very typical combination for Magic players). I would venture that the following combination would be "ideal":
Extroverted/Introverted - Extroversion is probably more valuable, since extroverts draw energy from social situations whereas introverts are drained by social situations
iNtuitive/Sensing - both are valuable, with Intuition probably playing a larger role
Thinking/Feeling - Thinking is likely much more valuable to game play
Perceiving/Judging - Perceiving is probably more valuable since you're actually incorporating more outside data when coming to conclusions
So, the ideal Magic player?
ENTP, with ESTP coming in a close second as long as your "N" percentage is still high.
I'm an INTP. I know of three ISTPs and an ENFP that play MtG. The others I haven't typed yet but they are probably Sensor types. It does seem like INTJ would be most likely to play. It's a fairly conceptual game with math and probable scenarios being constantly analyzed. I'm usually surprised by Sensor players who like MtG but it is kind of obvious in their play styles. The Sensor wants to interact with what they can see right away and not with the scenario that's coming down the road.
I'm even more surprised by the ENFJ. My brother is an ENFJ and he only played for about a month and he wasn't really into it. My gf is an ENFJ and she couldn't play if she wanted to.
You have moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion (56%)
You have slight preference of Intuition over Sensing (12%)
You have distinct preference of Thinking over Feeling (69%)
You have slight preference of Perceiving over Judging (22%)
INTP here, although I've had INTJ come up once in a while taking that test.

Cards are game pieces, and should be treated as such, easily replaceable.
Cards are not money, investments, or a retirement fund, and should never have been treated as such.

I'd actually be surprised if INTJ is that common among MTG players since it's supposed to be a REALLY rare type in the MBTI. That said... it's my personality type. Now that said, I'm curious about the color preferences in relation to the Myers Briggs types. Is there a correlation between certain color preferences and certain personality types. This is data I want. ... Yeah, can you tell I identify with blue?
