It is free. It has all cards unlocked. It automatically updates. Controls are weird but easy once you figure out to just click things. Apparently there are tournaments on it too.
I suggest this over MWS because submitting new decks is easier, and I dislike MGO because it is not free.
(There is another program that you can use called Apprentice, but I have not used it.)
Skype gives you more of a feel for playing magic. Cockatrice is like MTGO, and I just don't like playing digitally.
*Old-school*
i might have a case of old school as well.
me and my friends simply mounted our webcams hanging above our play mats, it actaully works out decently.
doing it through skype still preserves some of the game "poker language/face".

I like the idea of preserving poker face... esp since my friends are pretty ugly.
While I don't really bother doing anything like this, I'm also of the old skool. I'm not a fan of playing online and hate dealing with the people who are free to barf up insults and language because they are hidden behind a keyboard. If you wouldn't tell me this to my face in person during a tournament with 50 other people in the room... don't say it to me on the computer.
I play casually against friends on skype its mega fun ^^ if you want to play me add me at shadows.rose ^^ (not sure if there is a skype thread for that or not >.>)
