I don't know who Stephen Fry is and Craig Ferguson wasn't even funny on Drew Carry, so no.
Swearing all the time makes you look inbred or like you live on Welfare. End of story.
And an attitude about vocabulary such as yours makes you look petty and shallow, get over how others speak. As long as you can understand them, they are doing it right.
I would never accept not being allowed to shuffle your deck, i would be to paranoid and certain you where cheating - by riffling it once or twice myself i can put that thought out of my head and start blaming good / bad luck instead of wondering if you are a dirty cheat...
Sure i will be gentle and not violently U-shape your deck - but im gonna shuffle, and im gonna both 'Riffle' and 'Mash'... that has nothing to do with bad ethics
It most definitely does have something to do with bad ethics. Riffle shuffling and bridging a deck causes damage to cards, that over time will start to show. If you've ever looked at the back of a card and saw white marks on the top and bottom of the card traveling vertically you've seen the damage riffle shuffling does to cards. It doesn't matter how soft you do it, eventually damage will happen.
I hate when people involve themselves in other people's trades. The way I see it, Magic is a trading card game. Some people play the card game. I more enjoy the trading and collecting part. And yet it is itself a game.
People are quick to complain if you give outside assistance at FNM where prizes are on the line and yet they see no problem butting in other people's trade talks where the more informed and experienced trader can win out. And I'm not talking about killing kids on trades with bulk rares for chase mythics.
I like the dance between experienced traders haggling and whatnot, and it gives me a chance to reflect on the deal after a few days/weeks to see how I made out.
As far as the shuffling goes, I don't see why shuffling is an issue when there are many ways to stack your own deck. A legal action is to shuffle opponents' decks so why not do it to protect yourself? If you don't want your expensive cards damaged, take care to double sleeve them. You have the power to protect them so don't complain if you don't take proper measures.

Double sleeves doesn't help much if your opponent bridges your cards. That's what I'm worried about.
The rules don't determine how much you have to shuffle your opponent's deck in Competitive and Professional RELs, as long as it's completely randomized already before the deck is presented to you. Cutting should count as shuffling the opponent's deck IMO.
Besides, I don't think you'll get any penalty for not shuffling your opponent's deck at least in Competitive.
The tournament rules are specific:
3.9 Card Shuffling
Decks must be randomized at the start of every game and whenever an instruction requires it. Randomization is defined as bringing the deck to a state where no player can have any information regarding the order or position of cards in any portion of the deck. Pile shuffling alone is not sufficiently random.
Once the deck is randomized, it must be presented to an opponent. By this action, players state that their decks are legal and randomized. The opponent may then shuffle it additionally. Cards and sleeves must not be in danger of being damaged during this process. If the opponent does not believe the player made a reasonable effort to randomize his or her deck, the opponent must notify a judge. Players may request to have a judge shuffle their cards rather than the opponent; this request will be honored only at a judge’s discretion.
If a player has had the opportunity to see any of the card faces of the deck being shuffled, the deck is no longer considered randomized and must be randomized again. At Competitive and Professional REL tournaments, players are required to shuffle their opponents’ decks after their owners have shuffled them. The Head Judge can require this at Regular REL tournaments as well.
Double sleeves doesn't help much if your opponent bridges your cards. That's what I'm worried about.
Also, I see it as a trust issue.
Double sleeving doesn't really help at all and it just makes your deck x2 in size and harder for your opponent to shuffle, which can cause even more damage than a single sleeved deck in the hands of someone who shuffles hard.

If you don't like it, you can ask a judge to shuffle your deck.....or you can do the same to your opponents cards. My view is, be polite until they step on your toes.
Personally, I bridge my deck every time the need arises for it to be shuffled, but I still don't like my opponent doing it. If I want to bend/crease my cards that's one thing but if the guy across from me sees me doing it and thinks he can do it back then that's another thing.
When my opponent bridges his deck and hands it to me to shuffle I usually just cut it, or if I'm playing really seriously I'll pick it up and shuffle it a few times, but no bridging and no possibility of harming anything in his deck more so than he's already doing it himself. It's just rude.

Riffle shuffling is just as bad bridging. I don't see why people can't just side shuffle. It's faster, easier, just as random, and at most cracks a sleeve if you're careless.
That's how I shuffle, from the side. I guess I didn't mean `bridge` I meant `side shuffle`. I just looked up the definition of bridge, and yeah, I only do that when I'm playing Poker or casual kitchen table unsleeved.

If so, that's.. Well, it's not nice, I can tell you that
Yeah, they do. I had it done to me during an FNM (That deck was my last super expensive deck) and almost during a vintage tournament! Vintage! It wasn't even my deck! And those cards weren't proxies! (Well... The P9 were, but still!) I stopped that guy just in time!

If I am not mistaken, there is a professional card dealer who HAS A YOUTUBE SERIES WHERE HE SHOWS YOU HOW TO SHUFFLE AT LEAST 10 DIFFERENT WAYS.
There is very little I have problems with when it comes to FNM, mostly because the people I play with are the nicest bunch of guys and gals. I so look forward to playing with them week after week.
But there is ONE thing that ticks me off beyond belief.
I don't care if you play a tier 1 deck at an FNM. I sometimes play tier 1 decks. But for the love of God, please put at least some thought and originality into making it.
Yes, I'm talking about 100% net deckers.
I played one guy who flat out admitted to me that he'd only been playing for 3 months. I've been playing since the end of Revised.
What does he do?
He pulls out a blatant 100% copied WRR Turtenwald version, card for card to the letter. Not one change. Just copied the deck off the net.
He ran over me 2 straight in about 10 minutes.
No, I'm not a sore loser. I play in a store where the # 10 ranked player in our state plays, somebody who I actually beat once. He doesn't net deck. He adds his own spin to decks and makes them really wicked, which is why he is ranked tenth.
But this guy just said, "heck with it." I can't be bothered to put any thought into this game. I'll just go "buy" a deck so I can win.
These are the people killing FNMs and killing this game.
I will play anybody else at our FNM (good players who earned the right to buy a deck if they so choose to do so) but I'm not playing against a 3 month player who just about knows the rules who has a daddy with enough money to buy him his "winning" deck.
And no, I'm not against net decking because I'm poor. I make a very good living with my own business, own over 35,000 cards including all the power 9 and can afford to "buy" any deck I want.
But for crying out loud, put a little thought into this game.
Take the core of WRR (Titan, Inkmoth, Kessig, Zenith, Dungrove (if Turtenwald version) and build something around it that's innovative. You might actually come up with a better deck like some of our better players have done. Talk about nasty decks. I'll play them any day of the week because they earned their stripes.
But please don't sit in front of me after playing for 3 months, have to ask me to clarify rules for you, and play a $300 deck that your daddy bought for you.
I know a lot of net deckers here are going to have a field day with my post.
So be it.
Playing since Revised, I more than earned the right to be PO'd about this practice.
Swear
Bring food
Talk to me while I play
Throw my deck across the room if you want
But don't sit in front of me with a deck that cost more than my best suit and then ask me the rules of the game
Deckbuilding is a very difficult thing to do and building a competitive deck is something that is way out of reach of a player that learned the game recently. Maybe the good player at your store has the skills to brew good decks or tweak existing versions, but a guy that has been playing for 3 months just can't do that.
It's much better for a new player to learn with a well constructed deck than a homebrew which is generally subpar. At least he can have fun using a well-oiled mechanic that works, instead of a faulty deck.
FNM is a friendly competitive environment. Friendly, but competitive. You can't blame people for coming with decks they think are the best, even if they just got their list from a recent big tournament top 8.
The fact that you don't want to netdeck or the fact you have been playing for long doesn't entitle you to anything in that regard.
And you're entitled to that opinion, but like I said, that's what is eventually going to kill this game when people start dropping like flies because they're tired of seeing Caw-Blade (when it was standard legal) or WRR now in 75% of their FNM matchups.
You're right. Anybody can come with any deck that they want to play as long as it's standard legal (or whatever format they're playing) but it doesn't make it right.

Legality is one thing.
Ethics is a whole different matter
Netdecking is the only chance some players have of doing anything in my store. Most of the best players play exact copies of recent top 8 decks so to even have a chance to beat them, you have to do the same. In the last few months I have gone up against one homebrew deck, and it wasn't good. Asking most people about making their own, they say something like "Yeah, tried it a few times, got rolled, said screw that."
Speak up. I get thrown off when some douche sits across me after pairings just staring blankly at his cardboard shuffling and then smugly handing it to me to cut it. Not even a smile or a hand shake. Dude, where are you from? Jeezus, didn't your parents teach you how to speak? How do you even play this game?
All that went through my head, and I effectively lost 0-2. Silence really threw me off. Sure, you can be calculating and efficient, but please, be human. Other than that, just the regular stuff like hygiene and manners.
