Mono G Landfall. It has a bunch of weaknesses but I have more fun playing it than any other deck.
It's pretty much just straight ramp into a bunch of Rampaging Baloth tokens or a giant Avenger of Zendikar. Best moments are when I can hit 10+ landfall triggers in a turn.
Silhana Ledgewalker into Moldervine Cloak... turn 3 Spectral Force with Scryb Ranger in hand... 1cc and uncounterable pump spells when the counterspell of choice was Remand... this deck just took control to school.
Mono-Black Vampires in the ALA/M10-M11/ZEN Standard. I really liked the flavor and power of Vampire Nocturnus. Still miss the card to this day. I kept onto my four copies and am surprised it jumped up to a ~$15 price per.
My favorite old deck was my Phelddagrif deck that I built back in the Alliances time frame. The deck was based off of my Millstone deck, so it played like a control deck using countermagic and removal. I used Icy Manipulator to shut down opposing creatures and to maximize the impact of Wrath of God. I usually used Giant Growth as a combat trick to make sure my Phelddagrif could beat any blockers (and sometimes boost up for lethal damage).
Mostly, I just loved beating people down with Magic's original Purple Flying Hippo.
Way back when I first started Magic and you actually built your own decks (not rely on the internet), I had a favorite aggro and a favorite control deck that I did pretty well with in Vintage tournaments despite not having any Power.
The control deck was just a cluster****, but super fun and very annoying to play against. I don't remember the cards to a tee, but something along these lines:
I also ran a counterburn deck that pissed my friends off. Something that ran Bolts, Incinerates, Chain Lightnings, Ball Lightnings, Fireballs w/Mana Flare, and then FoW, Arcane Denial, Counterspell, etc. Mana Flare was awesome because even though you were ramping them, you still have a free counter in FoW, and could cast Counterspell/Arcane Denial for U. Then next turn you'd untap and cast a huge Fireball. Amazing!
My favorite post-internet deck was either Kithkin or Boat Brew.
No doubt my R/G/B land destruction back in 95'. Was totally unbeatable and probably the only thing that could stop it now would be Force of Will. Turn one juzams(mixed with berserk and fork by turn three), constant land destruction mixed with the rock solid simple black vise and the opponents pain was evident.:D
prolly my BW control deck back in tsp-rav times (my deck wasn't type 2 though, had no idea about different formats back then since we played what i learned to be legacy but pretty casual). I can't even remember what it was since it had so many singletons of stuff.
I think the only stuff I had a set of in that deck was serra angel, pilary of the sleepless and faiths fetters.
other than that it was pretty jank but I did pretty good when we had tournaments (it wasn't DCI sanctioned or anything
when I think about it, it was so bad but so fun to play since I didn't have much of a clue back then.
Kam/Rav was mty favorite t2 meta followed by rav/tsp so I really like a deck form that period but my favorite ex competitive deck that I actually still play for cas. is g/w astral slide albeit my version is heavily modified for casual, the core is still the same astral slide +eternal witness + mana ramp, removal and a couple of good win cons. I also love MBC.

MY Five-color Cascade deck that i played during Lorwyn/Shards standard. Take a lot of tapped lands, add a bunch of planeswalkers, add Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker, and a ridiculous amount of removal, and you get this deck. It wasn't actually that good, but damn it, I enjoyed activating 3+ planeswalker ultimates in one turn amongst my friends.
During Alara/Zen standard, my GW planeswalker control deck. It was basically planeswalkers, River Boa, and removal. It was so much fun to play against creature decks. The sideboard was tuned against the RDW and vampire decks that were prevalent in my meta at the time.
Yes, I know it's 62 cards, but I really wanted the Basilisk Collars in there and I didn't want to take anything else out. I don't think it really affected me anyway.
