Let me throw another question into the mix here: what about immediate demand? What if I have a stock of standard staples that people need right before an FNM? Is it acceptable to trade them a $2 card for a $5 card, because they need that $5 card right now? Also, another piece of advice for traders. The one thing that is music to a shark's ears is "Oh my god, that card is so cool, I've needed that for like months." NEVER say that when trading, even if you do need it. Just play it cool, know your values, and you should do fine.
Higher demand = higher price. Basic free market mechanics at work right there.
OMG YES. i know exactly how you feel. a long time ago i saw some people who were playing magic (i didnt know what magic was). i went over to see and one of the guys gave me a mountain. the art and style of the game was perfect for i only had 1 other card besides the mountain... A DARK RITUAL $89.00 i didnt know its worth so he wanted to trade... i was and idiot.
and thats how i ended up trading a dark ritual for a wing warden owl $00.15
