I was digging through my old cards an found a few Demonic Consultation it sound like an interesting card. Why not use a demonic tutor? You have to be looking for a game finishing card right? Just curious on if people use it and what could they be searching for??? And the chance of you naming the card is slim then you get to the card and then what do you do it doesn't say?? Thanks in advance!

Demonic Consultation is great because it only costs B and it's instant speed. It's restricted in Vintage and banned everywhere else.
And I'm not sure I understand your question. Once you find the card that you named, it goes into your hand. If the only copy is one of the cards that you exile in your top 6, then your whole library gets exiled and you lose the next time you have to draw a card.
I think during the time it was legal in Extended (BAAAAAAAAAAACK in the day), it was used as a tutor because you couldn't use Demonic Tutor. You had to use statistical averages when you use the card. Let's say you needed card "a". You had 4 of in the deck. The game has been going on for a while, so you could tutor it up using Consultation. Barring VERY bad luck, where 3 would be in the top 6 you exile and the fourth one being the last card in your deck, you got the card you needed.
Click on your card tag dude, the oracle text is far less confusing. Also, I'd play this over Demonic because it costs 1 less and is an instant, though, I don't know why I should have to choose. It also combos with Mirror of Fate if you name a card that isn't in your deck. Then you can lock the board by casting "Beacon of Tomorrows" Every turn and win with a Sage Owl or something equally humiliating.

So you want to serach for a 4of in your deck I would assume? That is kind of a big risk if you don't find it!!! Sorry I was reading the card wrong I see that you take it into your hand once you find it.

It is a risk, but in the only format that it's legal in, it's just going to find you a card that wins the game. People can and do search for restricted cards with it. Do some math, 6 divided by the number of cards left in your deck, that's your percent chance of losing due to it. If the card wins you the game, those are almost always very good odds.
Back in the day we had this card plus Necropotence in the same Standard. As 4-ofs. It was disgusting

Decks that run consultation ALSO run demonic tutor. Keep in mind that both demonic consultation and demonic tutor are restricted, so you can only use one per deck.

Generally, yeah. You fish for your game winning card.
Just curious on if people use it and what could they be searching for???
Depends on the situation. I've fished for yawgmoth's will. Its a gamble, yes, but sometimes its worth it.
Sometimes you don't need to fish for a game winning card. When I ran it in sui black years ago I named tool cards that were a four of in the deck (hymn to tourach, chalice of the void, sinkhole, that sort of thing), depending on the situation.
And the chance of you naming the card is slim then you get to the card and then what do you do it doesn't say?? Thanks in advance!
Your entire library gets exiled. You will very likely lose if you don't get the card you named.

So restricted means 1of and banned means not a chance in Hell! I did not know that! Thanks! I put it one of my decks and played with it earlier. Wona few and lost 1. I exiled the card I named on the 6th card:mad: But I had Necropotence out so I survied a little longer (2 turns)hahaha but I definetely can see the power of it. Fetch me my Phyrexian Negator please!!!!!
