Jund is a "Shard" (three colours) from the Alara block, red+green+black. It's also the name of a top deck in Standard right now consisting of those three colours.
Other Shards are:
Esper: blue white black
Naya: green white red
Grixis: blue red black
Bant: white blue green
The Jund deck, however, has very little to do with the Devour mechanic in its Shard. Instead, it focuses on garnering insane card advantage by using Cascade cards and using incrediblyefficientcreatures. On top of this, a healthysuit of removalhelps to keep the game under control. It relies on a veryfragilemanabase, however, and is easily disurpted by landdestruction. Land destruction in standard is really bad however, which is one of the reasons this deck is so prominent.
