Stories are told of boosters with all rares, or all foil premium cards. But those stories are strictly rumors. Legends. Tales told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Until now.
Take one last trip to Alara and collect all 539 foil premium cards, in this handsome foil booster. Each of these boosters contains fifteen foil, black-bordered cards from Shards of Alara, Conflux, and Alara Reborn.
These boosters will be available for a limited time, starting on January 8, 2010. And they're only $11.99!
Cool idea, but a little overpriced for me. Maybe if it had a couple more uncommons it'd be worth it, but $12 for mostly a bunch of foil commons and (probably) a crap rare is too much for me. Maybe if they were 9$ I'd get a couple.

I'd say enough is enough... How much money do we need to keep up with all these products they keep anouncing? Sliver Deck, FTV, Duel decks, planchase, marketing tricks to buy an already self sellable product (Zen)... Man I can't cope not even for collecting pospouses...
They said "all 539 cards" in the block so obv there are rares and mythics. The question is: normal frequency? In normal boosters, it goes 1:2:4 between rares, uncommons, and commons that are foil. 1:3:10 is... worse.
Hmmm..as someone that loves foils, I would probably buy these, on occasion, if I still played.
Of course, it's kind of a weird setup, because the existence of something like this will make the very foils that you're trying to open alot less rare, and decrease their value, thus making this product itself less valuable.
It feels like these should cost 9.99, not 11.99. I assume that they come with the same C/U/R structure as a typical pack. Hopefully the Mythic Rare replaces a common, as is normal.
I do wish that they'd do this for a better set, though. Not alot of value in Shards Block. Hopefully they do it for Zendikar Block, to make it easier to get ahold of foil fetchlands. It's unreal how much foil versions of normal fetches cost, even today.
Of course it's a gimmick, but that's all that Magic is anymore.
Everyone stop complaining. There is probably a lot of market research into what people want. If you don't want to buy it, don't buy it. People will buy it or else Wizards wouldn't print it. I think it's kinda cool. I hope it does mean that they are pushing EDH and I would be interested in checking it out if it became a sanctioned format. Although, FNM's would take like 3 days....
