Probably some pile with 18-20 lands and a gameplan of waiting until I drew one of my two Scaled Wurm. The first well thought out one was years later, a UB bounce list that used Recoil, Warped Devotion, and Sigil of Sleep enchanted Metathran Elite or Prodigal Sorcerer to control the game, with a couple Megrim to kill. I also have fond memories of a three land elf deck, but I don't remember any of the specifics other than sets of Llanowar Elves and Priest of Titania. In hindsight, I have no idea how that ever got rolling (very lenient mulligan rules?) but it was very successful at my middle school lunch tables.
The first format deck I built was much later, a zoo deck in ALA/ZEN standard.

[Pr]Jaya | Estrid | A rotating cast of decks built out of my box.
First deck I ever, ever played was a Tom van de Logt's 2001 WORLDS Champion deck, that two friends gifted me since they had another like 4 copies (never found out why). I still have the deck.
The first deck I ever built was an "Abzan" (more like black with a splash of white/green) assorted creatures and spells, built around the Necravolver. Had a few Armadillo Cloaks and the top-end was Corrupt.

RIP Magic Duels. Wizards will regret what they did to you.
Green and black stuff. Basically every card I owned but had Avatar of Woe and Scaled Wurm. Swapped all my green for my brothers blue and Flight on a Vizzidrix became the most OP thing in the deck. I remain bad at magic.

Modern: RG Titanshift. A deck made of cards too stupid for EDH.
Retired: Lots. More than I feel you should suffer through or I should type out.
A friend of mine in middle school decided to stop playing so he gave me this massive pile of cards in a plastic baggy that he said were his deck. It was a pile of probably 200ish red, black and green cards. The artwork was super cool and got me hooked onto the game from there.
Going to try to remember some of the cards and their editions that were in it:
2x Mono Red Goblins from 8th edition and the Red artifact deck from mirrodin mashed together into a 150 card deck. It was so cash, I didn't know the quantity rule so I had like 12 Raging Goblins in it lol.
My first deck I hand built was an old Mono White Lock Up deck running thing's like Master Decoy, Pacifism, Arrest, and used some Sierra Angels to finish the job. It was a good deck it taught me to adapt and play. Shortly after I discovered blue and its aspect of control. Good memory's.
I'm a brand-new beginner, so my very first deck was Red Desert wins from Tolarian Community College (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzF0nzWR-Ts). Turns out it became a modern deck the second I finished it!
My first deck was a 4th edition starter deck. Back in those days, there were no thematics decks. So, it was a 5 colors with no special strategy. After a few matches, I realized how frightful was to play with it. I took out the blue cards and islands, and some time after, the black cards and swamps.
My most powerful creature was "Durkwood Boars" (actually I won too many matches with them, counting that all my friends had the same lame level).
After buying some boosters from Fallen Empires and Homelands, I opted for use a red-green deck. Red for burning the fields, green for sending the troops.
My first mono was green.
I started in 4th edition, so, a 4th edition Starter Deck. It was awful 5 color jank. Thankfully, I was quickly able to buy some Ice Age, and some 5th Edition when it came out, and molded it into a Green/White creature deck. It was bad. My first real competitive deck (beyond building exact copies of World Champs decks) was U/G Madness (I was a very very casual player until then). A friend let me use it at FNM, and I won the whole tourney with it, and I split the prize with the friend who lent me the deck, and in return, he let me keep the deck.
4th Edition Starter Deck, but lets be honest that was not a deck, it was a mass jumble of cards that had no thought or depth of construction. My first deck that I built was a white black pestilence deck. I played in groups and I was always the first to die either through hate or my own devise. We played for ante back then and I always lost my key cards. Namely my Serra angel , I had 2 and they both got taken.
My 2nd deck was Blue Red copy/clone/steal deck. I could not afford the cool cards so I just played what every my opponents owned. It worked great.

Sometimes I'd swap the red for white so I could play a bunch of Dire Wolves, Icatian Phalanx and Kjeldoran Phalanx alongside Stream of Life, Vitalizing Cascade and Circles of Protection.
I think it was several years before my friends and I played with te "one land per turn" rule, because we thought it was stupid and unfun.

It was a pile even back then, but it was fun. And yeah, Second Chance is still my favorite card, if you hadn't figured that out already.
