Are the usage of Textless spells frowned upon in sanctioned tournements? I was thinking of adding a couple of my textless spells to my Extended deck for the upcoming Grand Prix. Would it have to be cleard with the judges?

"Ach! Cash, run! It's the Tarmogoyf!" -My Wallet, last words.
Foil promo Figures of Destiny and Demigods of Revenge count as perfectly legal unaltered cards, and the problems they caused are legendary. I can't see textless cards causing any similar problems but still, if the Head Judge sees a problem, he can do something about them.
Maybe its because I dont do the type 2 thing, but ive never heard about the problems. Please, enlighten me.

The problem is just that they're foil. Foil cards warp differently and stand out as marked, which is a no-no in the competitive arena. The reason that those two particular cards stand out is just that they're highly played tournament cards that were given out for free. Non-promo foil Demigods are individually just as problematic, but there aren't as many in circulation.
To save yourself potential headaches, foil cards should generally be avoided in big tournaments if at all possible.
what if you use sleeves? Does the "warping" effect of foil cards still exist?

Started playing since Invasion, stopped at Scourge. Returned briefly during BoK's introduction of ninjas. Finally back into magic during Shadowmoor/Eventide.
Currently Running Bant Control and a homebrew Blightning Echoes for Type 2.
Media is not making me steal. But in a way is like the story of the very hot girl with the short skirt teasing the old sick guy with a history of rape.
Don't ask your judge if your textless promo cards printed by wizards of the coast are legal, you will get laughed at and waste their time, obviously you are allowed to play with them. Also they aren't frowned upon in sanctioned tournaments, in fact if your opponent doesn't know what they do, they shouldn't be in the tournament to begin with.
The advice on foils is right though, don't run 4 of one card in foil, with no other foils, also do not run only foil lands, or vice versa. As long as your foils are incosistant and not visably warped in the sleeve, you won't have an issue.
Warping is i think more prevelant in tropical countries like mine ie the Philippines due to our warmer climate. It became such a problem that people were actually trading away there foils for the non-foil version. I actually found a way to get around this by using perfect sized sleeves than placing those inside the normal ones. They flatened out pretty nicely, but the deck increased in thickness by almost 1/4th.
This thread is full of idiots... Lightning Bolt is NOT being reprinted.
Many times has a writer in Wizards said so, because of the plain and simple fact that it's too powerful for what it costs. x/3 creatures shouldn't be able to die at instant speed for one mana without a signifigant drawback. (like PTE giving you a land)
I absolutely guarantee that LB will not be printed in M10, and you can quote me on that.

Pretty much. I've Goldfished with 3 Foils in my deck (with sleeves), and I saw those three cards in most of my opening hands. I didn't even try to put them there; it's like using cut cards for magic tricks, they just float to the top when the deck is cut. I'm starting to not like Wizards for the Intro Packs, because I decided to go out and buy 2 Master of Etherium today... $12 wasted...

As I said just use perfect sized sleeves along with your regular sleeves.

But yes, they're fine for sanctioned.
Although always a good idea even a head judge shouldn't be able to ban perfectacly legal unaltered cards even if their texless.
My deck has 9 textless spells in it.

Not if you sleeve/store your cards properly.
The advice on foils is right though, don't run 4 of one card in foil, with no other foils, also do not run only foil lands, or vice versa. As long as your foils are incosistant and not visably warped in the sleeve, you won't have an issue.
