Playing against a morph deck coupled with sets of equilibriums and dream chisels can be extremely irritating. it is as good as playing a deck of Man-o'-Wars with added abilities. Honestly, is there any cards that are anti morph? dream chisel is obviously pro-morph. I wasn't active during that period but is there any anti morph equivalent? If not, what tactics should be applied when playing against a morph deck?
I am not sure if i have put the thread in the correct place. Mods, please move it to the appropriate place if it does not belong here. Thanks!
There are a couple of cards out there another one that comes to mind is fatal mutation. Against a morph deck...I don't really have any advice just be really suspecious. There was this one card that let you look at face down creatures...I can't remember the name though.
Also another idea is to use 187 creatures (creatures with comes into play effects). So if he does bounce your stuff laugh at him, maybe use a nekkratal or a creature with a disenchant so you don't have to worry about the chisel or the equilibrum.
It's been touched on before, but it sounds like you're coming at this problem from the wrong angle.
Rather than stop his Grizzly Bears (or Gray Ogres), you should focus more on dealing with Artifacts and enchantments. Oblivion Ring is a fantastic, cheap, main deck answer to both the chisel and the equilibrium.
Thanks for the replies guys. it seems that there is no official anti morph mechanism or 'hoser'. I will consider what u guys suggested. Basically,t he deck that i am facing boosts of plently of permission as well. So that is another headache.
There were several cards in onslaught block designed to punish morph:
Break Open - Though this is a bad "punishment" Backslide - Also not great, but turns their face up guys down, which costs them more mana Exiled Doomsayer - makes their morph cost more Fatal Mutation - strands a creature as morphed Bonethorn Valesk - get damage out of your opponent morphing Aven Farseer - If your opponent morphs a lot, becomes a very efficient flier. Aphetto Runecaster - draw cards off of your opponent's morphs
Additionally, they are all 2/2's. So anything that deals 2 damage to everything or things coming into play greatly punishes them: Infest, Aether Flash, Pyroclasm, Cave-in are good examples.
Also, 2/3 creatures can block and kill them and live to tell the tale: Kird Ape, Elvish Warrior, Skyshroud Elite are some good choices.
They also have a converted mana cost of 0. Take advantage of this: Crime//Punishment - Punishmet for 0 takes them out Pernicious Deed - Deed for 0 takes them and little else out. Deed for more to take out his chisel and equilibrium too. Forced March - Kills all of them for BBB Droning Beaurocrats - Stops their attacking or blocking for just a tap Repeal - Bounces one and draws a card for U Spell Burst - Counters for U, reuseable for 3UU (Spell blast does the same thing without buyback) Spellstutter Sprite - Counters it and gives you a guy Dominate - gains control of any one for 1UU. Chalice of the Void - Play for 0, they can't play morphs. Ever.

Trying to burn them out with Wrath and Pyroclasm effects seems a little beside the point. It deals with the creatures once they're out, but it's the coming into play itself that's so damaging. I like the other methods like Chalice of the Void and Trinisphere, but simple Disenchant effects will likely be helpful.
I really like the idea of comes-into-play, leaves-play and sacrifice-in-response abilities to make your friend's strategy less potent. Even something as small as Aven Riftwatcher could be meaningful, and cards like Floodgate can do multiple jobs at once.

(and Spell Burst and Spellstutterer Sprite counter morphs for cheap too)
