TrollandToad may be selling their Summer Serendib for 13K, but the actual going rate for them is closer to 8K. Another group of cards not mentioned are the Urza's Saga promo foils that were printed textless by mistake. This run also included the first judge foil Lightning Bolts which were also accidentally textless and are about $2000.00 The textless Serra Avatar is about $1600.00 and the textless Karn is about $1200.00

any scans/links to these cards? I don't think I've seen them..
So do you think MTG "accidentally" puts out a few misprints or mistakes intentionally?
I have worked in printing and I am pretty sure they are not intentional. When you are running a press and want nothing more than a smoke break and a lunch hour 6-pack, you don't care if some gnome is printed wrong.
I am surprised we haven't seen more off-cut cards with human blood on them.
maybe. but I can't find an estimate on that card. since there is only one copy, it'll most likely cost you your house, an arm and your first born child..
The most expensive card which was in regular print (as opposed to being a promotional or special printing) is Black Lotus, with average prices as of 2007 above US$1,000 and high-quality "graded" copies rising above US$3,000—in 2005, a "Pristine 10 grade" Beckett Grading Services graded Beta Black Lotus was bought by Darren Adams, owner of West Coast Sports Cards & Gaming Distributors in Federal Way, Washington, for a record $20,000.[32]
So, I think the Lotus is still king at $20k when in pristine condition.
summer magic was only printed by mistake, and few copies were sold.
Just thought I'd address this.
Summer Magic was not printed by "mistake"; it was intended to be a corrected version of Revised. If you notice, Revised has a washed out look, color-wise, and there were other errors (Serendib Efreet, Plateau's art credit, etc.), so Summer Magic was meant to fix these errors. However, it turned out to have several other errors (Hurricane, more color issues, etc.), so they chose to recall the printing and destroy it. Some product obviously escaped, as there is still some floating around.
This thread is full of idiots... Lightning Bolt is NOT being reprinted.
Many times has a writer in Wizards said so, because of the plain and simple fact that it's too powerful for what it costs. x/3 creatures shouldn't be able to die at instant speed for one mana without a signifigant drawback. (like PTE giving you a land)
I absolutely guarantee that LB will not be printed in M10, and you can quote me on that.
I remember reading somewhere that the Artist did get artist proofs of the two one of cards, the Dragon and the 1996 World Champion. Whether that's true or not, I also remember reading that they had been lost/destroyed on accident.
That Lotus had to have been literally in the same condition as it was out of the pack for it to get such a high fetching price (and to also receive a 10.)
My opinion is that the Dragon would be the most valuable card, if sold. Not only is it a Dragon, its extremely rare.

I don't think there are proofs of those. I'm nearly certain.
For normal non promotional and non misprinted item (that includes PSA graded cards), it will be the Summer Srendib Efreet. Goes for around $8000. Summer Hurricane is no where near $6000. More like $2000ish. Seems like you guys are way overvaluing summer cards.
Btw, the summer hurricane at GP Singapore was the 2007 one, not the previous one.
Serendib is probably the most expensive card from the set, but mostly because of hype. I'd expect any of the playable rares from the site to fetch near what the Efreets garner.
Edit - and the fixed artwork. I forgot about that. I guess there is a reason they're the most expensive rare.
I'm pretty sure that's not the original Proposal. That's definitely not Quinton Hoover art and at one time I saw the Proposal and the card itself (border, templating) looked different as well.
The original proposal was printed in a sheet and something like all but 9 were destroyed. Richard garfield's closest friends all have copies, but one was stolen in tokyo several years ago.
While photos of it circulate, a personal request from garfield caused them to be removed from the major magic sites. You won't find scans of it without looking very hard.
The other 2 are more common as one was included in each birth announcement sent out, at least a hundred exist and scans are all over the place. They've been spotted on ebay in the mox range.
Keep in mind, the fact that they are not actually magic cards lowers them somewhat, they're value is based solely on the rarity and "historical" significance.
Like I said, Richard Garfield personally requested that the magic community not post scans of proposal, salvation will most likely respect that and remove them if you DO find one.
This may be true, I read about it a long time ago.

true. still, it has got to be the card with the highest value.

WUBRGPauper Battle BoxWUBRG ... and why I am not a fan of Wayne Reynolds' Illustrations.
These I beleive were scanned by Mykeatog at magiclibrarities, but Berkumps posted them recently. Just wanted to give credit where due.

good. I like the fact that a "normal" card is the most expensive. but $20k? ... I'm tempted to say "lol", but I have a strict policy on that...
of all the cards mentioned so far, I think a gem mint lotus is what I would like the most. would be nice.

I was unaware that those existed. I am suddenly obsessed with obtaining one.

They essentially look like 4th Edition in the printing style, but instead of having the artist credit and copyright style of 4th Edition, it simply has the copyright info for the artist and year (example: Illus. © 1994 Mark Tedin).
Just thought I'd clear that up.
Not to speak badly of the dead, but its Inquest, so I wouldn't put that much stock on it.

And they still didn't fix the artist credit. Go team!
Summer duals are similarly insane price-wise, although it has been some time since I've seen any on the market.
As promised...and here's the other two as well.

RRR Buy some of my art! Prints! RRR
You're definitely right about the artist credit though...I hadn't noticed that.
Oh well. If someone can find one (I think there were only 25 or so ever printed or something), post away.
Where'd you see it, bristol?

That point has already been made (and in a much less spammy fashion). Spam Warning.
